For starters in order to enter the hotel you must negotiate the homeless sleeping 100 feet from the entrance just across the street and the pimps offering you a good time with the woman in the dark windowed storefront 2 doors down from the entrance to the hotel on the same side of the street, Hotel was clean but dont even consider bringing your children as there are free porn movies on the local tv at night. Although Metro Blanche is in close proximaty to hotel you are required to switch metro line no matter where you go unless its the arc de triomphe, Not unsafe but sketchy block which left you feeling uncomfortable. Some of hotel employees were nice but many were not. Skip this Hotel.

after reading some of the reviews especially the most recent of the hotel being like a hostel me and my husband was a bit worried about staying here and didnt know what to expect.
When we arrived we was pleasantly surprised the hotel was nice, the rooms were good, clean and comfortable, the staff were really friendly and helpful, we had a lack of knowledge about Paris but they was on hand to answer all our questions. Breakfast was good there was a good selection of food available.
Overall we had had a great weekend in Paris and couldnt fault the hotel or staff.

Found this hotel - if thats what you want to call it - very inadequate. For the price we paid I expected a lot more. Over the three days that we stayed there not once was our room cleaned. We had to call at reception for a towel as all our towels were wet and when confronted about the cleanliness of the room nothing was done. The pillows were split open, the walls looked very cold and in bad need of a lick of paint. Bathroom had no proper shower - only a nozel that you were expected to hold while you wash. Room heater looked like it was from the 1960's. On the day of leaving checkout was 12pm - got a call from the reception -at 12:05 telling us that she was waiting on us (which I thought was very rude) - if it was 12:30 I wouldn't mind but 12:05. Enjoyed our stay in Paris but will not be staying in this hotel again.

Very Adequate For OUR Needs!!

When my wife and I arrived, we were pleasently surprised with what we saw. The Hotel staff are very helpful and polite, to say nothing of being knowledgeable to our requests, our room {4th floor} was clean and airy and VERY QUIET, although with no view. It had a very nice size balcony with which to rest and relax on, if only eat 'al fresco', and the breakfasts were adequate and plentyful. Research, most definitely is the NAME of the GAME,when visiting Paris for the first time!!!!
The Metro is VERY close by, and is soon mastered by anyone with average intelligence, we have been to Paris before and love the people....food and atmosphere. I would say it is ESSENTIAL to learn SOME French,as it makes your life so much 'easier', however....a lot of Parisiens either speak or know 'some English' which makes life bearable. I would have NO HESITATION in recommending this hotel on a BB basis if planning to spend time exploring the city. IF you intend as we did, to visit Versaille or some of the other many attractions....buy, THREE DAY or MORE PASSES as it saves on the QUEUES!!!!!!!!!
A visit to the 'Sacre Coeur' is a MUST, using the 'la petite train' which leaves every half hour in the summer from the 'Pigalle'....weather permiting of course! It is advisable care be taken with your security and valuables when visiting the 'Eiffel Tower' of an evening as 'pick pockets' operate in the area.
Having said that, the place and view are simply SPECTACULAR when the Tower is illuminated, and WELL WORTH the visit, as is a river trip on the Seine!!! On thing is for sure, WE WILL BE BACK!! Paris is far from 'cheap', but so rewarding...romantic, and charming....there is NOTHING LIKE it the world to compare in MY opinion! And the fashions, are to die for!!
