Stayed at this hotel recently as part of a business trip to Paris. Check-in was very efficient. Had asked for a single room and was pleasantly surprised to be given a twin room on the second floor at the front of the hotel. It was a perfect size for one person and would be more than adequate for two people. The room and ensuite were both very neat and clean, housekeeping was obviously up to scratch. The flat screen TV was a nice touch.
Even though the room looked out onto a busy street, it could not be described as noisy at any time (in fact, the background noise of people passing below added to the character of the stay.) It was two days into my stay when I realised that the metro line actually ran under the hotel. It was like a gentle hum each time it passed below.
Breakfast was one of the best I have had in a Paris hotel with plenty of choice. There are a number of very nice restaurants in a small square behind the hotel. I'd certainly recommend the "No Stress Cafe" - it summed up this hotel and its surroundings for me.
One small tip - if you are travelling by Metro, the St George station is almost outside the front door, while Pigalle station is well within walking distance as well - in fact it is probably quicker and easier to walk from that station than to transfer to the St George if you are coming from that direction. It is certainly more interesting !!! The only downside is that I would not recommend walking from the Pigalle station after dark.

If size matters, go elsewhere - if not, you may love it!

We booked direct with Hotel Lorette Opera and got a comparatively good rate but maybe this was why we ended up in one of the tiniest rooms. We had read the reviews and so it really didn't bother us but to illustrate the size of the room, there was space for a double bed with a bedside tablea at each side, that was the width of the room. My husband and I couldn't pass each other, somebody had to sit on the bed and wait for the other to pass. The decoration of the room was lovely and the bathroom was nice - only a shower - and everything was spotlessly clean. The safe and hairdryer were exactly what we needed.
Public areas are very well designed but because there isn't a bar or a mini bar you don't spend much time in either your room or the hotel.
We took a taxi from Gare du Nord which cost around 6 euros one way and around 10 euors on the way back - definitely easier than messing around changing metro lines.
The hotel is in a great location, across the street from a metro, easy walking distance to Montmartre or L'Opera and there are lots of nice bakeries and cafes to do brunch if your breakfast isn't included. Rue Lafayette is a 5 minute walk and is a great place to head at lunch time when you can follow of the city workers to the best sandwich shops.
I'd say that if you've booked this hotel, you'll love it for its style and proximity but if you haven't booked it and need some space then look elsewhere.

This hotel is clean, tidy, and has been recently refurbed. The rooms are standard hotel fare in terms of appointment, and they are small. The lobby is smart and bright, and breakfast is perfectly acceptable, and not bad value by hotel standards.
Local to a metro station.
Good hotel if you just want somewhere clean and easy whilst you spend your time exploring Paris.

My husband took me to Paris for my birthday and we had a wonderful time!
When we were looking for hotels we didn't chose a really cheap one as we wanted a few mod cons, unfortunately we didn't really get them with this place. Of course we were expecting the room to be small (as most are in Paris) and on a positive note it was clean and the bed was very comfortable, but unfortunately although it was advertised as having in-room tea and coffee making facilities we didn't have any.
We asked at reception for a 'hospitality tray' on our first night , I really wanted a cup of tea before bed, to be told that they didn't have any, they didn't have one on the second or third night of our stay either - I know this is only a little thing, but it did irritate me!!!
My full marks really go to the staff at his hotel, I don't think I've stayed in another place where the staff were so nice.
On a slightly different note, the closest metro to the hotel is St. Georges on the 'dark green' line, to get to it; come out of the hotel and turn left and it is about two minutes away. Plus if you're going to the Sacre Cour you're better off getting the bus from one of the stops near the hotel than to get the metro to Montemartre. Also if you're going to The Pantheon, most of the guide books say that it is open until 9pm - it isn't, it has changed and it's now only open till 6pm!
Oh and for a delicious brunch try upstairs at The George - outside the metro station. Most importantly take good walking shoes people - you don't want your feet bleeding at The Louvre like mine were!
