We stayed 6 weeks here. The main reason we chose this place was its proximity to KLCC. Location is really the greatest thing in this hotel: to get to Petronas Towers you only need to cross KLCC Park, which is a leisure 5 minutes walk, Ampang Park station is about 200 m, so you'll have good connectivity with rest of the city.
If you come here for only couple of days I guess it's not a bad option, but to reside here on longer term, like we did, you may find better places.
We had a delux apartment, which was rather mediocre. Wasn’t too comfortable though wasn’t too bad to complain about either. Living room, bedroom were fairly OK, bathroom might have been refurbished 10 years ago: old fashioned tiles with discolored bathtub and musty bath curtain. The kitchen wasn’t really equipped for more complex maneuvers than to make an omelet or steamed rice. But if you stay somewhere several weeks you may want to cook for yourself.
Breakfast is good. The hotel has a fairly wide selection that keeps you happy for one or two weeks ... not any longer though.
Noise is a real drawback in this place. We lived on the 26th floor but the noise of the nearby streets and the construction works in the neighborhood still got to our apartment creating a constant background noise throughout the day ..... and night. So we ended up sleeping with earplugs.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Internet connectivity is no value for money. Sometimes it’s desperately slow.
Hotel is a sort of city in the city, so you can arrange plenty things under one roof. They have self service launderette, convenience store, gym, pool etc.

We stayed in the Darby Park (or the Darby Dump as we came to call it) for abour 3 weeks whilst waiting for an apartment in KL. The room we had was on one of the unrefurbished floors (13th) and was in pretty shocking condition. The main room and bedroom were quite large, and although the furniture was a bit old it was functional. The bathroom and kitchen however were in an awful state. Tiles were cracked, the walls were mouldy, the bath didn't drain, etc., etc.
So in summary - badly in need of refurbishment.
Also be aware that the rooms facing the twin towers also face a building site that sometimes works 24 hours a day. The rooms are not very well sound proofed so it does get noisey. There are also the calls to prayer from the mosque in the adjacent park that can be a bit persky at 6am in the morning!
Worth pointing point though that a couple of my colleagues also stayed there and were in newly refurbished rooms on the higher floors. They were much better and also quieter. So if you do stay make sure you request one of those apartments.

Hidden joys of staying at the PNB Darby Park

We have stayed at the PNB Darby Park on 3 or 4 occasions, usually for a period ranging from 3 to 5 nights. The rooms (all suites) are spacious, clean and well appointed. I like the fact that the kitchen is immediately to the left of the entrance with a long corridor leading to the living room and bedroom - this way, there is no smell of cooking if one has been using the kitchen. Good size refrigerator, microwave and all the necessary dishes etc... Anything missing can be delivered to the room, i.e. wine glasses. The hotel is well located; one can easily walk to the famous towers as well as Ampang and City Square shopping centres. There is 24 hour local restaurant practically next door; the 39 Restaurant on the roof top (select al fresco dining) has a spectacular view of the KL Towers and the fountains below. No alsool is served, however, you can bring your own and there is no corkage fee!
There is a good gym as well as a nice children play area. Breakfast is OK but no great shakes.
All in all, good value for money and again: great location.

Stayed here for 5 nights with spouse as well as my sis-in-law and her son. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment, and it was spacious. It could easily accomodate 2 families with little children.
Kitchen includes a big fridge, microwave and kitchen utensils. There's three toilets, one for each room and another smaller one for any guests coming in and a living as well as a dining area.
Breakfast has variety daily and delicious. KLCC is a 10-15mins stroll and service is courteous but slow (I'm not the demanding type but I did request for a sewing kit and they sent it up after 15mins, ordered room service and had to call up twice, they finally sent the food order after 1 hr! They apologized because they had a lot of orders coming in during that time - lunchtime).
There's a games room and a launderette which is convenient if you're staying for a week with the family.
Overall, I would want to come back with my family here, because its quite comfortable when you have children below the age of 5..!
