We stayed 4 nights at this hotel during the Wine festival. It is centrally situated in a good position with an outdoor pool which we didn't use because the weather was rainy. We had superior rooms on the 6th floor which were quite small and stuffy with small bathrooms. However because they were superior we were entitled to a special concierge service which was terrific. Wine trips and restaurants were recommended and booked for us [all were good] and flights confirmed all with a smile.
The hotel restaurant food was good and we were able to get a late dinner when we arrived at the hotel about 11.30 pm with friendly service. Breakfast was good with lots of choices.
When you check out the hotel does a search of your room, we found this with other hotels in Argentina. You need to allow time for this as it slows down checkout.

Where to begin-we arrived on Friday night and we experienced a nice welcome from the receptionist, our rooms were good (though not a 4 star hotel by either European or US standards but I have gotten use to that in Argentina). The reception staff were helpful in assisting us with booking a tour of the Andes and wine tours. However, all that good work was absolutely ruined by our experience on Saturday night.
After returning home around 1.30am, we realised that there was a lot of noise in the hotel. At first, we thought it was coming from the wedding on the first floor. However, when we spoke to the night manager, they said that the noise was coming from another source. That source was a bar/wine store, the Winery, that backed up to the bedrooms of the hotel. This bar was having a party which included a dj. The night manager indicated that they would call the Winery and have them turn down the music. At 3am, the music was playing louder than ever and we asked the night manager, who had tried unsuccessfully to call the Winery, to call the police. He indicated that he would and we returned to bed. At this stage most of the guests were calling reception asking what was been done about the noise.
At 4.10, the music got louder. At this stage, I got dressed and went down to the lobby. I asked the night manager if the police had been called and he indicated that were outside the Winery. I walked over to the Winery. There was no police present and it did not appear that they had ever been there. I went into the party and asked to speak to the manager. I explained to him that we were staying at the hotel behind their bar and at 4.20am in the morning, if they could turn down the music. There were only 20 people present at the party at this stage. He explained to me that it was a party but they would turn down the music a little. I waited 5 minutes but there was no sign of the music been reduced. At this stage, I explained to the manager that I was returning to the hotel and calling the police.
I returned to the hotel followed by 2 people from the bar/Winery. I insisted at this stage that the night manager call the police to the hotel. The police arrived 20 minutes later and we explained to them what had occurred. However, the 2 people from the bar/Winery had called back to the bar and told them what was happening at the hotel and the party was over at the Winery when the police arrived. They returned explaining that they had spoken to the manager about the situation (a little too late!). At this stage, it was 5am in the morning. At some point, the general manager of the hotel had been called and I was told that he was on his way to the hotel. I decided to wait on him to explain how extraordinary it was that neither the hotel or police had done anything to stop the noise until I had gone to the bar/Winery to address the issue. At 5.30am I got to bed after receiving a very lame response from the general manager that the bar/Winery was a new establishment (open only 2 weeks) and that they did not know the management and therefore were unsure of how to deal with the problem. My experience would indicate that when every guest in a hotel is calling to complain about noise coming from another bar, you call the police and they resolve the issue.
An unbelievable night at any hotel, not to mind one which rates itself at 4 star. Needless to say, we didn't pay for our stay on Saturday night which they wanted to charge us after insisting they had resolved the noise problem!
The most unsatisfactory and horrendous stay I have ever had in any hotel/B&B/hostel.

We were staying in Buenos Aires and decided to take side trip to Mendoza. We went to a local travel agent when we saw an ad for 3 nights excursion to Mendoza. The "deal" as advertised--we were informed was not available to "foreigners" so the Hyatt was not an option for us--being Canadian. But we were told not to worry fhat there was a 4 star nearly as good, the Acongaua.
Although our experience was generally alright, we would not rate it as a 4 star hotel- the room was tiny, bathroom was out-of-date and carpet was dirty. There were a few other gltches, such as our airconditioning which failed after the second night and there seemed to be a problem with fixing it. The front desk staff were not helpful( and downright snarky). As a result of no airconditioning, we were forced to sleep with the window open which proved to be a very noisy night from the street traffic.
The upside to this hotel was the fine dining which proved to be imaginative and tasty. Service was excellent and attentive. Bellboys were also helpful and friendly, although there was no service in the pool area and a limited menu.Room service while ok the first morning was tardy the second and needed a second telephone call for results.
All in all, we felt that we could have obtained better value for our money.

We were so disappointed in the Aconcagua that we completely forfeited (nil refund) two nights fully paid (in $USD) accomodation to move to another hotel. The biggest issue was the ventilation in the bathroom - it seemed anytime a guest anywhere in the hotel used their toilet, the odour made its way into our bathroom & eventually, into our bedroom. Not only is the hotel desperately in need of refurbishment, but our room was really unclean. Surfaces felt sticky & dirty. The "white" towels were worn grey & thin. The bed was hard & had a thin dirty blanket as its only covering. The staff were the least helpful & most unfriendly we encountered in South America. We'd highly recommend Hotel Argentino for the same price - tiny rooms, but newer, cleaner & much more pleasant.

Rooms are bathrooms are relatively small and the desk staff is not really friendly. Seems as no renovation has been performed since 1978 ...
Definitely not a 4 stars hotel but quite decent for the price.
