Olaya was a treat

Excellent, clean, modern hotel in downtown Riyadh (Faisaliyya district) with exceptional service. It was my first stay in Riyadh, which with I was quite impressed, generally.
The room was immaculate and very comfortable - many amenities and responsive front desk. The internet service was not included ($10/day), thought the overall price was reasonable given the location. The hotel is situated in a hi-tech shopping district (hardware/software)... it seems the city shops are organized by genre. Definitely requires a car to shop/get around.
Access to the pool for men was until 4PM, due to Islamic cultural standards with regard to visual privacy. I had meetings every day, so relief in the pool was before heading out - I would have preferred evenings!
The poolside "mist-garden" restaurant had a very tasty selection of good food with on-order grill and prompt service. Actually, food in Riyadh generally was really very good and inexpensive.
I can't compare to other hotels (just yet), but would definitely stay here again.
OK, but tired

Stayed her because Radisson was full and I will be staying at the Radisson again.
The lobby is very tired adn the restaurant not very good.
The room was OK; large, clean and tidy.
The hotel is in the computer souk area and very noisy at night.
Swimming pool and fitness suite not open.
