I just got back from a vacation that was cut short due to this hotel and I am not one to cut a vacation short. We were supposed to stay there for only 3 nights and we cut the trip to 1. Room service was slow and when it arrived we received two hamburgers(that were undercooked), fries and two bottles of water for 50.00!!! Watch out for the surcharges, delivery charges, breathing charges, etc. We had to send back the food and ordered two turkey club sandwiches, which took an hour to recieve. The rooms were smelly so we slept with the windows open, the business center smelled the worst. We received an "upgraded" ocean view room which we thought would be great, NOT!! Your view is of cruise ships docking and ferry boats passing by. So, you have an opportunity to swim in the beach with oil and gas. This hotel needs a makeover. If you are used to nice hotels that are clean and upscale DON'T STAY HERE!!! Oh, but the staff was nice.

Whatever you may be quoted as a rate, it is not what you will pay, believe me. Mandatory service charges for food service (buffet included), maid service, energy surcharges and the like will add substantially to the "advertised" rate. This is a terribly misleading and dishonest prctice by the hotel, and Hilton should be ashamed! Check-in was slow, but courteous. Rooms are small, and service in the restaurants was non-existent. With guaranteed 17-18% gratuities, the staff have absolutely NO incentive to even smile. We spent about an hour at the breakfast buffet, and NEVER once even saw a waiter at our table to offer tea. Avoid this place!!

Just returned from the Bahamas and a one night stay at the Hilton (after 5 amazing nights at Atlantis), long story.
Compared to other Hiltons, this room was small, dingy, lacked light and had a mildewy smell. Aside from the shower trickling, there was no hot water. The room had no towels when we arrived and none of the windows opened, so there was no air circulation. Beware, the room looks nothing like the photos on the hotel's website.
As far as Hilton's go, i was expecting much better quality and service.

We read the previous reviews and were a little concerned before we went. But we want to say the hotel and staff were wonderful. The staff and the location helped make our stay very pleasant. We would recommend this hotel for people that want a quiet beach and a pleasant staff. You are very close to downtown Nassau for shopping and restaurants.
