I booked this hotel directly from the hotel website and received the best price for the room. When we arrived, the hotel staff was friendly and willing to offer any assistance we needed. The room was clean and with the windows shut, we could barely hear the noise from the busy street below. However, noise from the room adjoining ours was very easy to hear.
The hotel was close (within 5 minute walk) to a bus route going to the metro in one direction and to the heart of Rome and the major tourist attractions in the other direction.

Well I've already written a review on this hotel about my experience when I went in April 2005 with two of my friends. I just loved it. So when I went back to Rome this year, this hotel was where I was staying.
My sister and aunt came along this time, and they loved it! My aunt's coming back with her husband and my sister, loved Rome and said she's coming back, and this is where she's staying.
I just can't praise this hotel and it's staff enough. What really touched me, was on checking in, the receptionist remembered me! Yes, he remembered me from 2005!!
Everyone is this hotel is so friendly, there is nothing they won't do for you. The hotel is in a great location; away from the city and tourists but not too far, you can chill out in the garden, take a stroll in the nearby park, jump on a bus (convinently just outside the hotel) and head into town.
Nothing more to say really because you won't be disappointed.

Using the internet, we chose a hotel with a better rate that was away from the tourist area. The bus routes are in front of the hotel. the rooms were big enough and well kept, and the hotel was back from the street. The breakfasts were just fine. The drawback was the aid we got from the desk. They wanted to use their laundry services (expensive as at all hotels) and a Rome bus pass we did not feel we could use. So when we went out to take a bus to a laundromat, we did not get any help on how you pay for a bus ride in Rome. A wonderful Aussie couple bailed us out, and the trip was success. The hotel would have received a much better rating if this desk helped us as desks in other cities had.

While the location is not downtown and you need to take public transportation to see any of the sights - its actually nice to be in a large tree lined neighborhood amid embassy's and grand homes vs the
madness of downtown. Can catch a bus or walk a few more blocks and take the metro into town easily. Great breakfast and cappucino's. Helpful and friendly staff. Good response via email in making arrangements. Super small room but I understand most are small in Rome. Paid 55 Euros for a driver to pick us up and 65 E for the return to the airport (more as it was very early). From what I researched that price was comparable to a taxi and its nice to have someone pick you up. Husband was pickpocketed on another bus (from Tratestvere) although he was being diligent about watching out for his wallet. Be forewarned.

We chose this hotel for a short 3 night stay and it turned out to be an excellent choice; this hotel did not disappoint in any way.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and they certainly made us feel very welcome and 'not just some other guests'; we've stayed in many hotels and there was a noticeable difference and genuineness about it. The breakfast was very good and we didn't miss there being no hot options at all.
We'd opted to stay outside the centre of Rome before (just further along Nomentana) and, again, this turned out to be a good choice and the location is nothing to worry about. The hotel is well served by several buses, which are both cheap and efficient and the [all] night bus (#60) almost stops outside the gate so you don't have to worry about not being able to stop in town until the early hours to soak up every last drop of atmosphere.
The location also has the benefits that you can eat in some very nice backstreet restaurants which are full of the locals (always a good sign) and where prices are not inflated for the tourists. All of the restaurants that were recommended by the hotel turned out to be excellent, including a quieter one almost hidden away near the Spanish Steps - this had great views over Rome.
All in all, excellent and definitely worth 4.5/5. I'd easily recommend this hotel to anyone.
