Hotel Villa Liberty is a nice hotel outside the heart of Siena. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to get into the main part of town. The breakfast is one of the better ones that we had on this trip through Italy. It included a decent selection of pastries, cereal, bread, cheese, etc. Plus they make lattes and other coffee drinks to order.
The room itself was large and roomy. Like alot of the other reviews said, this place is NOISY. We actually had a rear-facing room, but I could still hear everything the people upstairs were doing. The most amusing part of the whole Villa Liberty experience is their so-called shower. Basically there are accordian doors in the bathroom that normally are folded flat against the wall. You pull them out and form a little square around yourself when you're ready to take a shower. After that, basically the entire bathroom floor is wet so save showers for the last thing you do in the morning.
Overall, the place was pretty good. It gets a solid B. Probably would stay somewhere in central Siena if I went back again, but really the walk isn't bad at all. For the area, it's a pretty good value.

Pros - good location with easy parking
Cons - noisy in front rooms and the rooms are quite dingy and small
It was OK for one night but I don't think I would stay here again given all the options

This is a fairly good value, small hotel. The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk into the main tourist area of Siena. It is close to the main bus terminal which meant it was easy to take day excursions. The hotel is located about 2km from the train station, but you can catch a bus there that goes to the main bus terminal. Although the hotel rooms could do with a bit of modernising, they were very clean. Hotel staff were pleasant and booked a trip to a vineyard for us. Breakfast was of continental style and fine.
The only down side was that it is located next to a busy road - the scooters and buses did make a lot of noise going past! We were worried that we wouldn't get much sleep at this hotel being light sleepers, but we were so shattered after the long hot, days of sight-seeing, that we ended up falling asleep very quickly, and didn't wake again until the morning. So in the end it wasn't a problem!
