Spent 6 nights in room 8 of the hotel. The room was cleaned daily, and the air conditioning worked well (very necessary in mid-July!). The staff were consistently accomodating and friendly and made our stay that much more pleasant. The shower was small, but the water pressure/hot water were in abundance, which is what those of us from the US are used to. The marble courtyard was the perfect place to sit out and enjoy a nightcap before heading in to sleep. The hotel was very quiet during our stay which was very nice. There is a rooftop area where you can sit and watch the sunset over the mountains of Crete, and really, is there anything better than that? Complaints can't come easy in such a peaceful place. If my travels point me back to Chania, I will certainly stay at Casa Delfino again, as it is perfectly situated close to all the possibilties that Chania has to offer.

excellent location just off the old harbor- close to everything, but nice and quiet; very peaceful; courtyard is fabulous place for breakfast; room was very nice; help at the desk always available and actually very helpful; we were very comfortable there and if we go back to Chania would not even think of looking elsewhere

Is the price really worth it?

I had some friends stay here and while it was OK, for the price, you would expect more (a lot more). The bathrooms, as everyone notes, kind of suck (by American standards, at least. By Greek standards, they may be very nice). In my friend's case, the tub leaked every time they took a shower and water got all over the floor. But, supposedly they are doing a major renovation which should take care of this. Hopefully.
It was kind of damp and moldy and cool inside due to the marble floors. Bring socks! But nice for sleeping.
The penthouse and honeymoon suite were both very nice. And the inner courtyard was great to hang out in. The ambiance was very nice and it was a very attractive hotel.
Not sure if it was worth the price, though...

My three girlfriends and I stayed at the Casa Delfino Hotel for 2 nights at the end of April 2008 and were absolutely delighted with every aspect of this gorgeous little hotel. I've read some of the negative comments about the rooms (being dark, bad bathrooms, too small, etc) and I feel I must let people know that the rooms have been recently renovated (in fact we were only the second people to stay in our room) earlier this year and these problems have been fixed. The bathroom was large and bright with an ultra modern shower and a separate room for the 2 person Jacuzzi, complete with waterfall and lights under the water as the jets blasted you. The celiengs are from the original mansion - brushed stone and beautifully exposed with well placed lightghing to make the room even more magical.
The people at the front desk were fantastic. My fianc?e back in Toronto wanted to send me flowers and called the hotel and they told him they'd take care of everything. Which they certainly did! When we entered the room a huge beautiful bouquet of flowers were waiting for me. The staff even sent my fianc?e updates via e-mail to let him know I'd arrived, seen the flowers, etc.
If I was on my honeymoon, I would rush to stay at this hotel in the old, romantic, Venetian part of Hania.

We stayed at Casa Delfino last week.
The building is nice, the breakfast is nice, the service is nice, we were just a bit disappointed by our room(11) with a view on other windows, the strict minimum in the bathroom, wich was actually very tiny and you have to ahve a shower nearly in the dark because the light is not ok. For the bedroom , the furnitures look a bit old and the matress is not very confortable, too soft, so you'd better have a partner of the same weight than you...
I would say , you still have a nice global impression, but it's a bit overpriced, considering you pay more the mosaic courtyard and the location than the confort of your bedroom.
