This is a solid hotel in Vienna. It's nothing super-special, but it's fine. The beds are okay, the bathrooms are okay, and the staff is fine. Unfortunately, there is no internet access except in the lobby with a horrible computer. The wi-fi is from T-mobile from an outside source, not in the hotel. It is sporadic what kind of internet you will get.
The location is good. The lobby is okay. Overall, it's a reasonable place. If you get a good price, it's okay, but I would not pay too much for this place. It is just above average.

Good location and breakfast, only 5 minutes walk from the Westbanhof train station. Downside is that the bed we had in room 407 was really uncomfortable, the pillows were dreadful and we had two single duvets on the double bed. Good breakfast and shower though.

I stayed in the Goldin Tulip Wien City 4**** Hotel in Vienna for three nights on 9th, 10th & 11th December 2007. On arrival with a bus load of 50 people their was only one receptionist and he had was not at all pleased at having to book us in.
The hotel is rated as a 4**** hotel, however 4**** hotels in cities such as Vienna, Prague and Budapest which I have visited in the last 12 months are not in my opinion of an equivalent standard that one would find in Ireland or the UK. At best I would say it is a 3*** hotel by "our standards".
Our room including the bathoom was clean and tidy and there was a room cleaning service daily. The breakfast was of the usual continental buffet style , but the food was not centralised in one location, thereby making it necessary to go from one area to another to "collect" the breakfast.
For a 4**** hotel the bar service was non existant at night. Luckily there was a bar about 150mts from the hotel which did not appear to have any restrictions on late night drinking. - wonderful.
The big plus about this hotel was its close proximity [approx 5 mins walk] to Westbahnhof underground station. From here it is a 6 min trip to Stephanspl. station which is in the heart of Vienna.
Overall I would summerise by saying that my rating of this hotel would be 3*** , which is quite adequate for the purpose we had in mind - a base for touring Vienna.

Stayed here on a business trip for 4 nights. Terrible. Rooms were small and everything was old (not retro as they claimed). Most of hotel in serious need of renovation. Beds are small and pillows are about as comfortable as a stack of wet newspapers. Cleaning service was minimally existent. Breakfast was selection of cereals, fruits, yogurts with a couple of hot items including eggs, bacon, and sausages. Only positive - free internet access in all rooms. Elevators are small and slow, which is especially annoying in the morning because all the tour groups check out simultaneously at around 8 meaning that the elevator is always full of someone's luggage if you want to take it. Quality is not even close to justifying the rates they charge.

The hotel was great. The location of the hotel is across the road from the main train station Westbahnhof so it is extremely convenient. You need to be careful not to miss the hotel as the sign posting of the hotel is not that obvious. Head towards the main shops and on the left near a shoe shop you will see the hotel (the hotel sign is high up).
We stayed in room 810; it was very clean, great power shower. The only downfall with the room was that there was no air conditioning, so we had to have the window open (a little noisy)
The breakfast was super, scrambled egg, boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, croissants, jams, yogurts, cold meats, cheese, salad, cereals, different breads & juices, tea and coffee etc you can eat as much as you like (yes I enjoy my food) The setting of the breakfast room was extremely modern and clean.
Another great thing about the hotel was that they gave you travel passes to use on all transport, we were in Vienna for two days and the tickets lasted for that time.
When I visit Vienna again I would happily use this hotel again.
