Very old hotel, that clearly needs a fresh-up. Interior design and furniture were old and in 80s colours. Good facilities and very good location, but everything from breakfast room, pool & room, left us feeling dissapointed, we expected more from a chain like Fairmont.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Fairmont Singapore on our way to Bali. We initially booked the hotel when it was still called the Raffles Plaza. Overall our stay was nice and we enjoyed the facilities of the hotel.
We booked a slightly more expensive room in the South wing which was really nice: excellent and large bathroom, nicely sized room, nice view from the room and all amenities were fine.
Hotel pool, though sometimes crowded as pool is shared with the large Swissh?tel nextdoors, was a nice place to relax, though it was sometimes hard to get a bed in the sun (pool deck is in full shade as of ~4pm). Fitness facilities are nice as well.
We ate outside of the hotel so have no clue on restaurant service.
Check-in was extremely smooth as we could check in as early as 9am.
Overall, a nice stay, not stunning but for the price paid very happy!

Recently stayed at the Fairmont Singapore for 3 nights. Have stayed at this hotel every year now since 2002 and athough the name has changed our experience has not. When I found out that the hotel had become a Fairmont (from previously being Raffles the Plaza and before that the Westin Plaza) I was slightly apprehensive about any potential changes, especially after reading some reviews, but can honestly say that we were as impressed as ever. If anything I think the customer service has gone up a notch - certainly in the lobby area the staff seemed more attentive. I always book through a local Singapore agent and have never experienced a problem with a booking and manage to obtain an all inclusive rate. I would strongly recommend booking a room in the South Tower as these are more modern and are well worth the extra few dollars. One of the many things I love about the Fairmont is that you can step outside your room onto the balcony and take in the atmosphere and city buzz from above and the views are just amazing. For someone who used to live in Singapore I think that the location is just perfect - shopping centre and MRT attached (just 3 stops to Orchard Rd), within walking distance to Suntec City, the Esplanade, Sim Lim, Bugis, Boat Quay, as well as all of the 'just over the road' places such as Raffles Hotel and Chijmes. I did pay more this year for the hotel but it seems that all hotel rates in Singapore have gone up and this one by no greater proportion than any other. Have also stayed at the Oriental Hotel, The Fullerton, Mandarin, Pan Pacific and others but keep coming back to the Fairmont. Can't wait for next years visit!

In my opinion, the Fairmont hotel is a functional business hotel. The rooms are not large, but are clean and the bathrooms are nice. The location is convenient for most of Singapore and being directly over Raffles City, its easy to pull in some shopping time outside work hours. The amenities are disappointing - the gym equipment seems to be quite old and its difficult to book a tennis lesson. But, on the positive side, the business centre is efficient and the internet connection in the rooms works well, if a little expensive. All in all a good place to rest your head during a business trip, but I'd be disappointed if I was on holiday in this hotel.

Stayed at the Fairmont Singapore for work. The hotel was excellent from the time I checked in, to two weeks later when I checked out. The lobby is beautiful and relaxing. Reception was very friendly and quick. The room had plenty of space and was nicely appointed. Turn-down service every night and they set the music to classical so you feel really relaxed when you come back each night. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and had great sheets. All lights / curtains are remote controlled. Excellent spa bathroom with great Miller Harris products, walk-in rainfall shower, over sized tub, and glass vanity/sink. Each room has a balcony. The hotel is directly attached to Raffles City shopping center and you can access the subway without leaving the building. Grocery store is located in the shopping center downstairs; very convenient for snacks. Nice gym. Great location: close to downtown, across from the Raffles Hotel (have a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar), and across from Chjmes. A couple of subway stops from Orchard Road. I was happy to return home after two weeks, but sad that I had to leave my beautiful hotel room!
