Just returned from a wonderful week in Denver July 5-11. The Crowne Plaza is a great location in a very "walkable" city. Only a short block from the 16th Street Mall. The free Thursday night concerts and local crafts fair are both held on the corner. We walked to Coors field for a baseball game and could see the Broncos stadium out our window. It is an easy two minute drive to the freeway heading for any destination you wish. My daughter loved the outdoor rooftop pool which was very clean as are the rooms. The only downfall is the extremely slow elevators but for the amount of time actually spent using them we could live with it. Compared with the cost of the "elite" hotels on the next block, this is a great deal and we would recommend it to everyone and anyone! I hope we are able to find a hotel of comparable value in all of the cities we plan to visit.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2008. We had a room on the 6th floor which overlooked a nearby multi-story car park so, not the greatest of views but, the room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The previous comment about noisey A/C was also true for the room we had but, with the weather cool while we were there, it was easy to turn the A/C by adjusting the thermostat settings.
The hotel itself was faultless IMHO, the breakfast was tastey and the service great. I didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as it is so close to the main shopping street (13th Street if I remember correctly) that we ate out each night.

Good location.
Check in for a large group of 30 did not go well. On arrival at 5.00pm the rooms were not ready, despite a mid-day checkout deadline.
This hurdle over, when rooms allocated, on leaving the very slow lift the first impression when you step into the corridor is 'oh dear this place needs a makeover', the corridors are very unappealing.
However the rooms themselves are a surprise, nicely decorated and six huge pillows to each comfortable bed, which have nice sparklingly white linen. However on the minus side the air conditioning is noisy. Bathrooms average size with plenty of towels.
Only a block away from 16th Street Mall the hotel is ideally situated for shopping and eating although we were surprised how early most of these places close in the evenings.
The Denver Mint and Capitol Building within a few minutes walk. So too is the light rail system if you want to get out of town. The Convention centre close by.
Free internet in lobby....
Pleasant bar and restaurant area.

If you are expecting a relaxing good night sleep, this is not the hotel for you. The A/C was very loud. The only way I could get some sleep was by using their complementary ear plugs. I was exhausted after spending 4 nights there with no sleep.

Didn't sleep a wink

After a plane malfunction, NWA gave us a free night at this hotel along with some food vouchers. The hotel is still under renovation. The Terrace restaurant is poorly staffed and even though there was only one other party, they got our order wrong. Our room overlooked the lobby. We had to be to sleep by 9:30 since we had a 4:30 wake-up call. The bar is in the lobby and was filled with noisy people until it closed. There is also piped in music in the lobby that kept waking us up. Along with people slamming doors all night, we didn't sleep a wink. Do not let them give you a room below the third floor on the odd side.
