I stayed 2 nights at the Royal Chace on business. I had a ground floor room, quite small but more than adequate for one person - nicely decorated (and not tatty), clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. There was a flat-screen tv (although not all the channels stated in the info were available). Bit of a problem with the heating - it was on all night and I was unable to turn it down, so slept with the window open.
The bathroom was small but clean and nice tiles! Shower was fine, not overly powerful but good enough.
The bar and restaurant areas at the Chace are very nice - spacious and tastefully decorated. The food is very good. Breakfast is fabulous. A lovely selection of fruit (fresh and dried), yoghurt, cereals etc. The cooked breakfast is self service and very good - sausages especially lovely!
Dinner wasn't quite as impressive as breakfast but very good nonetheless. We had a choice from a set menu, which perhaps accounted for it being not quite as good.
Staff were helpful and efficient - no problems there at all.
The hotel is in the process of building a gym, which will greatly improve the facilities - I definitely missed not being able to exercise after all that breakfast in the morning!

Stayed here as I was on business in Enfield where there is a lack of good hotels. Unless you have a car, then this isnt the place for you as its in the middle of nowhere.
Due to arrive Sunday, but as I was going to be late thought I would call to let them know, however, I was told there wasnt a booking in my name. So arrived very early next day to sort this out, and they realised their mistake so I requested an upgrade which they eventually agreed to. The room had a four poster bed and a larger bath, but certainly not worth the hotel rate if you were to pay.
Rooms were clean and most staff helpful other than a young chap at reception who insisted on controlling tv in the bar so he could watch what he wanted to.
Restaurant was shut on the Monday and as there is very little else close, I had no choice but to eat from the bar menu which wasnt bad at all. In fact it was much better than the meal at the brasserie which again was extremely over priced.
Unlikely I would stay here again.

I have stayed here a couple of times on business and found the hotel suitable. The rooms are a little on the small side but otherwise
fine. The only really comlaint I have is the bath in that the rubber seal around the bath was broken and missing and not very hygenic. The bathroom was otherwise clean.
Free wireless Internet is a welcome bonus. Plenty of parking and near to Enfield centre.
I will be working in Enfield again and will be happy to use this hotel again.

I have stayed at this hotel man times over the years, they have great function rooms, a nice restaurant and the rooms are nice although quite small.
The hotel generally is not what it used to be and it feels as if they are taking their success for granted. The food used to be great, now it is just ok and the meals provided in the last few functions I attended was very average.
Overall I think they need to start making an effort to get this lovely hotel back to what it was.

Lovely Hotel . . . Clean rooms, Great views and pretty court yards, Parking, Helicopter pad (For those who need it !) And the extras as well - trouser press, shoe shine machines, kettles, TV, bathroom items . Breakfast was a feast . . . (gorgeous sausages !!) You would think you were in some remote area of the country side too.
BUT
The only down side I found was that although the Wedding Reception was booked at this hotel for 4pm and the wedding was at 2am in London, one of the reception staff appeared adamant that we could not check in before 2pm (We arrived at 1130 after a 230 mile journey) . We pleaded to try and find us a room before this time, so we could change our clothes, but was told that this would not be likely. To 'Join the queue' . We could change in the toilets if we wanted to instead. Eventually we were given a room an hour earlier than the alloted check in time and everybody was happy. I thought that the staff member could have been a bit more empathic in her approach to us (Shortfall in good customer care here), instead of a stoney faced 'No'. Maybe a short term courtsey room should be made available for guests who have travelled long journeys, especially for those who are using the hotel for the wedding breakfast and evening reception too. . . . Just an idea ??
