We decided to stay at this hotel because of the cool website and amazing pictures. This was a huge mistake! We drove up to the hotel and first noticed that it was located on a very dirty part of the beach. The valet doormen were very nice but that was about all the professionalism you will get out of this hotel. I am trying not to be so one sided because this was my personal experience but this place did not live up to half of what it displays on the website and that was dissapointing. Alot of people rely on the information that they find on the web. The staff was not friendly at all, I dont need all smiles and handshakes but smart remarks at concerns that I had are not acceptable. My room had not been properly cleaned prior to my arrival, gross sexual content was found under my bed. I tried informing the staff and recieved a smart remark as if it was my own trash. Management then offered to have someone clean up the mess but not change rooms. :( I was completely at a loss for words and felt disgusted to even try and stay the night. I checked out at my own loss. This place needs new management! We later found many other hotels in San Juan that were extremely polite and unique such as El Convento. Keep searching, their are many others to choose from. Dont make the same mistake.

Great Small hotel

I stayed at the recommendation of my sister who came last year. This is a lovely small hotel. The staff is delightful - especially William at the front door!
For someone who travels for work, I prefer to stay at a more intimate hotel than a big "chain" hotel.
Food at the restaurant is very good. The pool on the roof is really just a pool in name, but refreshing for a quick cool off.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to others if they are looking for personalized attention over lots of amenities like a casino etc.

I stayed at the Water Club from Monday, July 7th through Friday, July 10th. The hotel was fantastic and lived up to its billing as a smaller, unique alternative to the large resort hotels in Isla Verde. The view from the rooftop pool and bar was beautiful. The staff were very friendly. Great beach and overall location for any trips in Puerto Rico. Drugstores and grocery stores nearby for supplies as well as the high end resorts with casinos for nightlife and gaming.
I would definitely go back to this hotel. The hotel, decor and vibe are suited for younger travellers. Great vacation.

Completely horrible

We stayed here last minute as everything else was booked - and i wish we'd slept on the beach instead. It was the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I have travelled a lot around the world and i accept variations in standards, but honestly this was like a youth hostel masquerading as a cool "W style" hotel. It was far from a "W". Good location but the rooms are cheap and tacky, covered up by funky blue lighting. The shower was cold, the light in the bathroom kept going out and the beds were made of cheap foam mattresses. The room service delivered a pizza to us that wasn't even baked, probably defrosted a packaged one 10 minutes earlier. We were told it had 2 queen sized beds to find that "queen" aparently means a full sized bed. The receptionists response was "that's what we call a queen". We are in our early 30's and like to party too, but even on a higher floor we found it hard to deal with the club music and yelling outside. Dont expect a smoke free room either.
The whole event was horrendous - all for $289/night. Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Loved the Water Club!
