After a long trip I arrived to this "hotel", i had checked my reservation the day before travelling but surprise! They couldn't find my reservation and they sent to another hotel, Le Glamour...very bad experience. The websites of both hotels deceive the customers, the rooms are nothing to do with the reality. I tried to find an explanation at Vip Loft the day after and the person in charge couldn't stop laughing at me. He said that they have several kinds of Suites, but if you click the Suite option as I did, the features are terrace, jacuzzi, plasm screen...but i found myself sleeping in a sad and dark bedroom with big holes in the door and in the walls and with the owner mad at me because he couldn't understand why i was complaining. The situation was ridiculous and i wrote an official complain at the tourist office. I hope everyody could do the same, because if the have several complainings maybe the can do something serious about it. I could check that most of the people at Glamour Hotel was in the same situation: a real nightmare. The Ower threatened me saying that he was going to ruin my business too yelling as crazy...unbelievable and unadmisible.

This is a great little hotel right in the centre of the Latin Quarter. St Denis Street is right there with all its great bars and restaurants. Berri Metro station is a 5 minute walk. The room was charming, and very old-world. Queensize bed was very comfortable (the pullout didn't look quite as comfortable). The manager was most helpful and spoke good English. We didn't have a car, and there didn't seem to be any obvious parking - probably have to find a private lot. There's a good 24-hour cafe opposite. A great hotel in a great location!

I booked this hotel on hotwire. I went for my visa stamping in american consulate and booked candlewood suites for 2 nights for ($108) which was AMAZING. So i thought i will get the same hotel again, but i ended up coming here.
When we went to see the hotel, it looked like a privately owned place, converted to a hotel(NOT A NICE NEIGHBOURHOOD AND NO PARKING). The chinese gal in the reception said the hotel rate is 89/day and i showed her the reservation. Then she called the boss and she logged into hotwire and confirmed that i booked the hotel for a very good deal. Unable to say anything, they accomadated me and my gf.
We moved in by 1:00 PM and we came out to find the surprise, yes I got a ticket for 50 canadian dollars for parking in front of the hotel. Unbelieavable.
Then we went inside the hotel and it was so cold. No heater. Then the gal said that the electrician will come and fix that. It was so cold. So we left the hotel.
We came back to find out no receptionist to be found. But the room was warm. BUT THE BIG WINDOW WAS NOT ABLE TO CLOSE.......CAN YOU BELIEVE.
Anyway, it was rated as *** starsin hotwire. Its not. ITs just a one star hotel.
PROS
- Nice room.
- Nice bed.
- Has heat but wont be like a three star hotel. Imagine a room, where you are heating the room with an xternal heater.
- Nice bathroom (no complaints)
- Has FAX facility.
CONS
- No parking, becareful....within 2 secs you will get a ticket. The cops will be roaming.
- Windows are not closing...they are olden day heavy windows. So the person sleeping near the windowside will be cold.
- Small TV
- You will be definitely told that the rooms are full and you need to pay $$$ to get a room, even though you booked a room online.
- If you get a room near by the window, you are screwed. ITs so noisy.
Overall experience:-
Its an ok hotel. Its ok to adjust and stay for 1 or 2 days, but definitely not a candlewood suites or quality inn. I will not pay more than $50 including tax.

This hotel was great! It was a great price and very conveniently located. I go to Montreal quite frequently and this was perfect for what we needed. They were very hospitable. We arrived and were given the room we had chosen. The rooms were clean, and very quaint. You must understand the this is not a five star hilton it is more of a B&B style without full breakfast. All hard wood floors and Ikea furniture. Its is perfect if you want a homey feel rather than starchy sheets and less than comfortable bedding that I was used to from the comfort inn we usually stay at. It is a good way example of Montreal as a whole. There is many resaraunts all in walking distance. You are litterally steps away from infamous St. Denis which is great for shopping. Although the websited claim you can bring dogs they usually do not allow them. However I was travelling with my shih tzu and they allowed her to stay. The hotel was great you are in a great spot to experience all on Montreal. Although parking is not supplied because you are in the middle on downtown. You can go to the parking garage just down Ontario street and park at the Cegep. I think it cost us $9 for and entire 24 hrs which is more than reasonable. Overall Thia was a great hotel. I will definately be goin back.

We arrived in Montreal to spend our valentines day at this hotel which seemed very charming in the pictures. I booked it over a MONTH in advance, and upon arrival was told that I did not have a place to stay in their hotel but could go to a hotel around the corner. That hotel was very helpful (apparently VIP does this to them a LOT) but they only had one room (with a shared bathroom - very romantic) and no room the next night, so we were left to fend for ourselves.
The hotel VIP sent us to ( Auberge montreal espace confort) was very helpful in giving us suggestions for hotels to stay at, and helping us find a room. I would recommend them.
In Short, if you want to book a hotel in advance DO NOT BOOK THIS ONE, because it will leave you out on the street and SOL.
