Great location in Northbridge, just a few minutes walk from the CBD with lots of good restaurants in the area. Rooms are basic but clean and staff are friendly.

All ok but no windows!!

This hotel is cheap and pretty close to town.
The reviewer is right that the indian resturant across the road is cracking!
Having said this for the price its fine, I personally hate rooms with no windows and its naughty for them not to state this when booking.
You also have to pay for TV channels (think there are 4 free - the rubbish ones)
Wouldnt recommend it for more than 1 night
Free parking and breakfast though which is a bonus
Very good affordable option

I stayed here 3 times in January 2008 - I found it very comfortable during my first few days in Perth, so returned twice when back in the Perth area during my travels around Western Australia.
GIven the price (I paid less than 100 dollars a night), it doesn't come with loads of extras (e.g. no swimming pools and gyms); but it does deliver a comfortable, well-furnished room; friendly staff; light and airy reception area; and has a free covered car park for guests. I found it a really good base for exploring the Perth area. The rooms had safes, fridges, TVs with about 14 channels, modern bathrooms, and air-conditioning.
It is the case that none of the rooms I stayed in had exterior windows - instead, you had a 'false' window containing a small alcove with a mini-skylight in the top, so that you could tell whether it was light or dark outside. Personally I don't see this as an issue though, unless you're planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel room.
The hotel is on the outskirts of Northbridge, which is one of Perth's main nightlife suburbs, packed with cafes, restaurants (particularly Asian ones), bars and nightclubs. It isn't an area particularly aimed at families with children, it's aimed at adults. The hotel is on a quiet side-street so you don't get the noise from the main centre of Northbridge.
The hotel is about 5 minutes walk into Northbridge; 10 minutes walk to Perth train station; and 15 minutes walk into the main shopping precinct of the CBD. The hotel is also about 5 minutes walk to the nearest Blue CAT bus stop, a free bus service which does a loop of the CBD every 8 minutes or so... this provides a very convenient option for getting from Northbridge into the rest of the city centre attractions.
I felt very comfortable and 'at home' here. I'll definitely stay here again on future visits to Perth, especially given the very affordable price.

A very nice motel, but we were put off a little when the shuttle bus driver told us not to go out too late at night as the knives and machete's come out. We laughed, but he wasn't joking. I dont know if it is true, but I have been told that this is the area, Northbridge, that has a reputation for drugs. Having said that, we had absolutely no trouble. As stated in one of the other reviews, the Indian Restaurant across the road is excellent. The rooms were clean, no window, a bit noisy on Saturday night, friendly staff, good meals in the restaurant. There is a free bus that goes around the CBD that can be accessed about 5 mins away. Its called the Blue CAT. The Blue, Red and Yellow CAT buses traverse the city and there is really no need for a car, if you only want to the Perth itself. Motel itself is about 10 mins walk from the CBD. Would definitely stay here again.
