Qualia, without doubt, has taken the standard of Australian resorts to another level.
The architecture is stylish and elegant and the Pavilions simply amazing. The staff are also impressive, taking great care to attend to guests needs in a friendly but professional manner. With the exception of a hiccup with housekeeping forgetting to service our room one day, it really is hard to find fault with Qualia. At this stage only about half of the pavilions have opened and hopefully it will remain as relaxing and comfortable when it is running at full capacity. Highly recommended

We had 6 wonderful nights staying at the beach house and it was by far our most relaxing family holiday ever!!!
Hubby and I together with our 18 year old son found the accommodation perfect with our son staying in the guest house giving us all our own space and privacy.
We adored the facilities of the beach house and made wonderful use of the full sized pool and surrounding deck areas. The beach house has a small kitchenette and a 10 seating dining table while outside is a BBQ, outdoor table, chairs, lounges with umbrellas and very comfortable day bed.
The doors to the lounge area open up and slide to one side so that you feel like the inside becomes part of the outside. Great for watching the native birds and the turtles feeding in the morning and afternoon.
The bathroom in the beach house was huge and there was a wonderful out door shower area attached to the main bathroom.
Beds were comfy but I would like to see a bigger range of pillows.
One of our family is a vegetarian that also requires gluten free food and the chefs did an amazing job at catering for these special diet needs at every meal.
The library is terrific and the range of big coffee table books is very impressive so it's a nice place to spend a few hours.
While the resort and facilities are outstanding it is the staff that make the place special. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone goes out of their way to be helpful.
We are already planning a return visit.

This brand new, super-luxury resort was recommended by an Aussie friend and it does not disappoint. Upon arrival at Hamilton Island Airport, we were met at the airport and swifted away to the resort while the staff claimed our luggage. After a welcome cocktail at the beautiful Long Pavillion, we were taken to our private pavillion, where our luggage was waiting for us- along with a spectacular view and every amenity you can imagine. They think of everything here (and I'm not talking about the fact that each pavillion comes with its own electric golf cart for getting around the resort and the small island). I'm talking about the fact that the staff comes by each night and plugs the golf cart in for its nightly charge. I'm talking about when it rains (which it does a lot in the "summer") someone comes by and rolls down the plastic curtains that keep your golf cart (and you inside) dry. I'm talking about when you park your cart head-in at the restaurant parking area and you find it turned around and ready to roll when you return from dinner.
Speaking of food and the fact that 3 gourmet meals are included, since Qualia is owned by the owner of the entire Hamilton Island, you can choose to eat at one of the restaurants on the island instead of the resort itself. You only pay for alcohol.
Facilities are fantastic, amenities are awesome, food is fabulous, spa is sumptuous. Pricey, to be sure, but if you're interested in luxury, this is it!
One note: this has been the worst summer in terms of weather in Australia that most can remember, so make sure you check before booking (we have been advised that September-December are the best months). Next time!
