We arrived on a sunny summer evening to an extremely friendly receptionist who announced that we had been upgraded to a suite- which turned out to be really nice. The hotel is very centrally located on the main drag-within walking distance of many of the city's sights. It is a long walk to the old town, but you can also get there easily with the public transportation. The price was very reasonable. The breakfast wonderful. Clean room. Bed very comfortable. T.V. fine. Everytime we asked the staff for something- we got great service. Their tips (on restaurants, bars, etc) were also perfect. In short, I have nothing but good to say about the hotel and its staff. (One minor comment is that breakfast on Sunday does not start until 8 am, and for people who have to leave before that, it is a shame, because they do great breakfasts!).

I stayed for three nights end of May, the Stockholm Marathon weekend. As a result, the hotel was full of Maraton runners from many countries, however, mostly from Finland. I had a very small inexpensive room facing the back yard. The room was pefectly OK, clean, however, with some luggage the room was crowded. The staff at the reception was very helpful. In total, I would say that you really get value for your money. In addition, you get an excellent location with walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

The room was chic with its scandinavian design, and there were fabulous restaurants, bars, subway, and shopping within walking distance. The bathroom was teeny tiny - I am under 5 feet tall and still felt cramped in the shower. Otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay.

L’hôtel Crystal Plaza, construit en 1895, est un bâtiment remarquable qui a conservé son originalité vu de l’extérieur. A l’intérieur, il a été modernisé pour des questions de confort. Le double escalier intérieur est charmant, le service est haut de gamme et l’hôtel est situé à quelques pas de tout ce qu’on aimerait visiter. Ma chambre de forme irrégulière (avec 11 murs environs) avait un haut plafond, un chandelier en cristal, une télé écran plat et était impeccable. Le restaurant chinois de l’hôtel sert un petit déjeuner complet qui est tout sauf chinois, et curieusement, passe en boucle les chansons de Willie Nelson tous les matins. Si vous pouvez supporter « Always on my mind » tous les jours, c’est un très bon moyen de commencer la journée.

The Crystal Plaza Hotel, built in 1895, is a striking building that has retained its original character on the outside. Inside, it's been modernized to meet every convenience. The interior double staircase is charming, the service is superior, and it's located within walking distance of just about everything you're likely to visit. My irregularly shaped room (with about 11 walls) had an extremely high ceiling, crystal chandelier, and flat-screen TV, and was rather spotless. The Chinese restaurant on site serves a full breakfast that's anything but Chinese and, oddly enough, plays a continuous loop of Willie Nelson songs every morning. If you can tolerate "Always on My Mind" every day, it's a great way to start you day.
