We just returned from a three night stay at the Adlon hotel and were satisfied with the experience. We got a huge corner room on the first floor, which was quite comfortable and excellently isolated from street rumour. The bathroom was very small but did not leave a lot to be desired, except for the tap which ran ridiculously close to the sink. Washing your hands or even filling a glass of water was quite a challenge.
The location of the hotel is indeed excellent, across the street from the central station where the train from the airport arrives, right in the heart of the shopping district and only minutes away from the waterfront and the old town.
Service is adequate as was the price of the hotel and breakfast is quite cheap at 75 krones per person for what can be considered a decent start of the day
The Adlon Hotell is a solid choice for a citytrip to Stockholm.

The Adlon is a nice, basic hotel with a great location right by the central station and Arlanda Express airport train. The Old Town and main shopping streets are within easy walking distance.
I arrived early but was able to check in right away. The desk staff wasn't especially friendly, with the exception of the night clerk, who went out of his way to smile and be helpful. The desk wasn't especially well-staffed, which ordinarily wouldn't be much of a problem except that the hotel insisted the room key be left at the desk when out and about and no one was ever there to make sure it was safely put away. I also had to wait to check out because no one was there, but this was only a short wait.
I had a single room, which was small but clean and comfortable. There was a bit of street noise as my room overlooked busy Vasagatan, but I didn't need the window open so it wasn't especially bothersome. Some of the common areas look a bit worn, but nothing was especially off-putting.
Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary: muesli and cereal, boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, etc. It wasn't served for an especially long time, so sleeping in isn't an option. It also didn't start early enough on the weekend for me to have anything before having to catch the airport train.
All in all, the location and price made the Adlon a good value.

Based on previous good reviews, booked a double at the Adlon. We were so pleased with the amazing location...two blocks from the biggest shopping area in the city, two blocks from the main train terminal, and although we didn't head that way, only a few blocks from the theatre district. Getting around was so easy as the buses were also right across the street. The famous Centralbadet (bathing pool) is about 10 minutes away and well worth a trip(you get a slight discount with your Adlon card).
Although relatively small, the hotel has everything you need, super staff who can sell bus or Stockholm cards, book restaurants for you, etc. The rooms were immaculately clean in that birch wood Swedish kind of way. Outstanding breakfast in a nicely renovated breakfast room where you could kind of glimpse how the hotel looked in the 1920s.
Although not fancy or luxurious, the Adlon has everything you need right in the middle of central city. You won't see many older buildings here, but you can shop to your heart's content as all the major department stores are nearby. Pricing was moderate for an expensive city like Stockholm..I think the doubles were about $225 USD.

A recent work trip took my to Stockholm for the first time. Selected the Adlon hotel, and wasn't disappointed.
The hotel is conveniently located close to the T-Centralen and central rail station. The express train to the airport is literally across the road, and it's a 10 minute walk to the old town.
The room was small, but very clean, and quiet. The breakfast was fabulous - a good selection of meats, cheeses and cereals.
Would happily stay here again.

This hotel was way better than I was expecting for under 100 euros/night in Stockholm! (Although I think that if you go in high season you won't be able to find such a great rate). I booked it directly through the Stockholm tourism website and was pleasantly surprised by how great the location was and how chic the room was. Also very friendly and helpful staff. Stockholm is a great city to visit so go for it!
