This hotel is in a perfect location. Many shops, muesums, restaurants, etc. are all within walking distance or short taxi ride. We stayed in room 601, which was very large, quiet and private. We enjoyed a private rooftop terrace. The walls of the terrace were covered in honeysuckle vines and smelled heavenly! The service was excellent, but never in your way. The breakfast was delicious, good quality, but rather sparse compared to other hotels we had visited in Italy. Hotel made excellent restaurant recommendations/reservations for us. Rome is a very large, hot and busy city; it was nice to have a place to relax at the end of the day that was quiet, cool and comfortable!

Chose the Stendhal after looking at many different 4 star hotels in the centre of Rome. This hotel was absolutely fantastic! A great central location not far from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Beautifully decorated, tradtional but with a contemporary twist. Rooms are small but lovely and well sound proofed. We had a room at the back, view not great but very quiet as no traffic!! Breakfast was brilliant, something for everyone, continental style. The staff were exemplary, so helpful, friendly and very professional. We would definately recommend this hotel and will stay here again when we return to Rome!

My wife and I stayed for a week. Based on previous reviews, we decided to upgrade to a superior room. This was a good idea, because the standard rooms are small, whereas the superior room was a perfect size, and tastefully done. I can't say enough good things about the hotel. Great service, private, nicely decorated, helpful staff (they helped with reservations, and sent us to a few really good restaurants. if you're nice, the bartender will even perform magic tricks!), perfect location, nice breakfast. We plan on returning, and would not even think of another place to stay. Having stayed at many nice hotels around the world, this is absolutely one of our favorites.

We chose to celebrate our 30th anniversary with a trip to Italy and Rome was our first stop. The Stendhal really was the perfect hotel for us.
We were quite fortunate to be upgraded to a very spacious and well appointed room, 601, which also had a roof top terrace where we were able to have a lovely breakfast.
This boutique hotel is beautifully decorated and maintained. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening in the very cozy sitting rooms.
As others have said, the location is wonderful and there are many fine restaurants within the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
The concierges were all helpful even before our arrival--Fabrizio helped me via email with my many questions in the weeks prior to the trip. Andrea arranged for our various tours and made some excellent restaurant suggestions.
Our visit was off season so I feel, considering how weak the dollar is, we got great value for our money. I would not hesitate to recommend the Stendhal and look forward to returning one day!

Just returned and felt I needed to write a review to let you all know that this hotel is great. Stayed in room 504. Don't expect a view as its at the rear of the hotel but there was a balcony we could step out on. Being at the back made sure we had a great nights sleep, bed was a great size. Room and Service were immaculate, couldn't have asked for more. Our bags were taken to our room and our bed was turned down on one of the nights. Staff were very pleasant and helped with any request we needed. Hotel was very secure and my husband and I felt safe there. Brilliant location, a few minutes walk to both the Trevi and Spanish Steps and just south of Via Veneto. Very close to the metro which was easy to use to and from the Airport (Fiumincino). Would recommend to everyone. Loved it and would go back again.
