I booked a "junior suite" but the accommodation was a regular bedroom. The bathroom was good.
The location was excellent close to the Vatican.
The breakfast was the worst I have had in a hotel at this price range, albeit the view of St Peter's was good.
The reception and the bar were good and helpful.

We only had time for a single night in Rome. We wanted a hotel close to the Vatican and not too far away from the "old Rome" with its restaurants, plazas etc. The Atlante Star was an excellent choice. The staff was courteous, the room elegant , and with a great view of Micahelangelo's Dome. Everything was clean and functioning, includint a great temperature control. Breakfast was in a pleasant grand room with great views, and good food with ample quantity and good quality ,buffet style. I arived by car. They have a garage, although in the area close to the hotel I did find space to keep it overnight. I was amazed I could find a parkind space nearby.
We will be happy to go there again.

After booking this hotel i read some of the reviews on this site and was really concerned. However, Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. Upon reading on this site that the hotel roof terrace bar was shut i emailed the hotel to ask whether it would be open on our stay. They apologised that it wasn't and i advised that that was part of the reason why i had booked as it was for my 30th Birthday. On arrival we entered our room to find that we had a bottle of champagne waiting on ice for us. The room was very tradionallt decorated with a very large comfortable bed, sky with every channel bar the the films, a large cupboard, massive window with velvet curtains, a large bathroom with jacuzzi and shower over. Could have no complaints about the room, although not massive it wasn't as small as some people have made out! The staff were as helpful as possible and very professional, advising us on anything and booking us taxi's etc.. The bar downstairs isn't really a bar but you are made welcome to have a drink in the rooftop restaurant which is beautiful and has wonderful views. Breakdfast is a std continental brekkie which you get anywhere and had a large choice of everything although the coffee wasn't the best. Room was a little noisy but if you stay in the centre of a city this is always likely!!! Comfortable 15 min walk into the historic centre and 1 min walk to St. Peters! Loved it and would def return!!
