Great little Hotel, but Fire the Housekeeper!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Just Hotel in Wellington. It was well priced, in a good location and the rooms were pleasant and modern, with an excellent bathroom. HOWEVER, this hotel is being let down by a sloppy housekeeper. The room was dirty, ie. The odd Stray Hair in the bathroom corner and the skirtings and shelves were dusty. The bottom of the bathroom basin hadnt been cleaned. When we pulled back the bed we found Hair in the sheets along with a suspicious looking mark on the sheet. We advised the receptionist of this and she promptly came and changed the sheets. Also found an old coffee packet from previous guest, that the cleaner had failed to empty. I have mixed feelings about staying here again...It could be a 5 star rating, if only the cleaning was up to scratch.

We stayed one night only as we were catching the morning ferry to Picton. The room was very small. We had parking as I had requested it when booking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location couldn't have been better for our needs. However, for a longer stay I would prefer a larger room.

We stayed at the Just Hotel for one night during our three week trip and it was the only place we stayed at in NZ that we were disappointed with. We had not been advised that we had to book a car park space in advance and were lucky that we arrived shortly before the local parking restrictions expired for the day. Our room was small with very dated decor. It was also quite noisey as it overlooked one of the main roads through the city. The hotel was relatively inexpensive but I don't think I'd stay here again.
