We read so many mixed reviews on hotels in Venice, it was hard to know what to expect when we arrived at Foscari Palace, but we were more than happy with the stay. The hotel has a small, elegant feel, with a lovely lobby, and an intimate bar area where the waiter served us complimentary champagne on our arrival. The rooms were totally updated, with surround sound speakers in the room and bathroom for listening to music. Had flat screen tvs, and comfy beds. Bathroom was modern and beautiful, the only downside was low water pressure. Breakfast is included and was excellent. The location was perfect, right on the canal, with many nice shops and restaraunts nearby. Not too crowded, and a short walk to all of the nearby sights.We aslo stayed at the Hilton Stucky palace which was far more expensive, and we all agreed that Foscari had it beat by a longshot! This hotel was by far the best deal we found on our stay in Europe!

We stayed at the Foscari Palace shortly after it opened. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The room was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast is served in a very elaborate, and elegant fashion. There was more than enough choice. The location is good because as a tourist we were able to see more of the local people walking and then stopping to chat. There were many restaurants to choose from. We stayed again about a year later and were equally impressed.

I am so happy that I found this hotel for our stay in Venice. My husband and I have been to Venice many times with our visitors to Italy (we live here) but have always stayed in various hotels and never liking where we've stayed. This has changed and I can definitely say that we will come back here. The rooms were great, the price was right, the staff was friendly and the location was.....what can I say....right on Canal Grande!!!! What views. We stayed in the classic double room and it was perfect. The beds were really comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect after a hot day in Venice. I had read that people had problems with the high tech shower....it's not high tech and easy to use. For those who might read this, just turn the tap on the left side of the shower all the way to the right and the different sprays will come on.

Stayed in the Gonzaga Suite, Room 209 for 2 nights Great sized room with 2 small balconies overlooking the Grand Canal Could have spent the whole day gazing at the wonderful scene below. It was interesting how the crowds on vaporetto No. 1 kept waving at us and taking pictures as if we were celebrities. Lovely modern room - huge bed plus huge marble bath room. Hotel does not have own restaurant but who cares with so much choice outside. However, the breakfast room is very small and the choice was a bit restricted. The saturday evening free champagne reception with harpist made up for it - but get there early to bag a seat. Ridiculously expensive but worth every penny. Overdid it with a farcically expensive water taxi at Euro 95 from the airport, but soon got the hang of dirt cheap vaporetto 1 service every 10 mins from Ca D'Oro stage one block from Foscari Loved it!
