The Hamlet of Canalicchio sits on a hilltop 420 metres above sea level - Originally built around the year 1000 and most of what you see now was restored in the 1700s - In the 1980s a family from Rome bought up most what was at the time a village reduced to ruins - After many years of hard work using the craftsmen and artisans of the area the rundown hamlet was reborn in 1995 and the Relais Il Canalicchio was restored to its former splendour using typical Umbrian stonework -
