Lovely place but make sure you have a car!

Due to some last minute change of plans, we found this hotel to stay for New Year's Eve; everything in Siena, San Gimignano was sold out (the hotels listed online anyways)! We were told we got their last room. The hotel actually has 42 rooms and not the 6 that I read. [-]
We didn't have a car thinking we could catch a taxi or a bus when we arrive at the train station, were we wrong! We were so lucky that an older gentleman at the station/bar volunteered to drive us there. It was a good 6 or 7 miles away. The complex has a restaurant which they were preparing a NYE party for their guests but required advanced RSVPs so we weren't a part of it. If you ever come here, make sure you ask about dinner reservation!
A French couple told us there will be fireworks at midnight so we came out and saw maybe 5 or 6 firework shows at all different directions. (The hotel is on a hilltop with views for miles; those gorgeous Tuscany scenes!) To our surprise, Borgo Tre Rose has their own firework show!! This is the closest I have ever seen any fireworks! They were shooting out yards from where we were standing. It was pretty amazing.
We check-out in the morning, great staff (the gal spoke perfect English), the taxi ride to the train station was 25 euros. Please note the reception closes in the evening, they left a key and map for us in their wall-hung box.
The room we got (#18) had a living area (with TV), dining table, kitchen with stove, a bedroom and a restroom. It's kind of like a ski cabin. Bring your own pasta to cook if you like!
It was a very memorable New Years Eve, we were a little hungry, but... :-) We will come back here one day but definitely with a car and a dinner reservation.
