Good budget hotel located in a reasonable area of Paris. Staff were very helpful on reception and booking in only took moments. No security issues at hotel we kept our door key card and the reception was always resourced.
Room was well decorated and clean but as previous reviews state on the small side, but in keeping with older properties in large cities. My opinion, okay for visits less than a week, after that the lack of storage may be an issue. The on suite good/clean again not that big.
Breakfast room sited in basement is bright clean and well run by the friendly efficient lady who greets you. Good choice coffee, cereal, cheese.ham, bread and toaster, fruit cocktail/juices, jams bread and pastries on table, probably best continental breakfast I've had.
Location -local lived in part of Paris plenty of local shops, boulangerie's etc. bars, cafes, restaurants, good market on Tues/Friday mins from hotel on Rue Richard Lenoir.
Getting there we travelled from CDG by RER to Gare Du Nord followed signs to Line 5 which has orange as colour for line and got off at the metro at Republique 5 mins walk from there. Print a map of area the Republique has several exits this will assist in going in right direction when leaving the metro.
Overall the hotel is a good choice for those within this budget range I would stay again if visiting Paris.

We booked a room at this hotel back in January for 3 days in May. When we arrived they told us there was a problem with the booking and that we were to stay in a sister hotel in the 12th Arrondissement. I think they had plenty of time to let us know the situation and could have dealt with it better. It was a HUGE inconvenience and we had to find another hotel that wasn't so far away from the action.

This hotel was part of an "early bird" package. A bit doubious at the start we thought that if it's accociated with SIA it must be OK and it was. It is a typical small Paris hotel. It did have a modern airy feel and the bathroom was clean and modern even if smaller than one in a motor home! We never quite cracked the water temperature in 3 nights and did have problems knocking the tap when turning. An excellent breakfast although the room was not for the claustrophobic.
tea and coffee facilities were a big plus.
It is a way from the main tourist attractions but if you are confident with the Metro you will be fine.
The staff were particuarly helpful.
If I was going to Paris again I'd probably pay a little more for a more central location.

We went to visit friends and wanted to stay near where they lived, so we chose this hotel by its location to their place. It is a little far from the touristy attractions like the Champs, Louvre or the Eiffel Tower, but we managed just fine with walking and taking the train The area surrounding the hotel was neat because I wouldn't have typically chosen to visit it and it was a nice surprise.
The hotel was kind of neuvo trendy with stark contrasts between white and bright colors, funky furniture in the lobby and neat artwork. It was a little worn in places, (like the main entrance rug) but very nice and clean in the rooms. The room was small, but we expected this in Paris. I really liked the bed-I thought it was pretty comfortable and the tea in the room was tasty as well. I didn't eat the apple on the pillow(a little sketchy)-but found a really cool outdoor market about 5 blocks away from the hotel with the most delicious fruit.
The management was our only concern because of two reasons.
1) Every time we left the hotel we had to give our key to the front desk. No one ever checked ID when we came back and asked for the room key-EVEN if it was a new staff member at the desk.
2) On the two nights we were there, they left the entire check in list on the front table both times. The names of every person staying in the hotel and their room number was visible to any one in the lobby. This combined with the fact that giving a name and a room number could get you a key, made me feel a little unsafe leaving my things (or even myself) in this hotel.
Changing these two policies would raise my ratings to a 4/4.5 for a budget hotel and I would be more inclined to visit again.

Booked through charnigparishotles.com (very reasonable!!!)
This hotel was clean and modern, fairly spacious room considering other reviews of Paris hotels!! Apple on pillows on arrival, clean towels, room cleaned every day.
Breakfast was: juice, coffee, cereal, toast *selection of jams/honey), pastries, yoghurt, cheese, meat and fruit, so fairly substantial continental breakfast!!!!!
Beds actually really comfy, 2 pillows(hate when you only get one!!)
Area nice, lots of shops, bars and restaurants, Metro close by easy access to all sights.
Would highly recommend this hotel/area. Hotel 5 min walk from metro, have a map handy to find street initially though, fine when you know where you're going!!
