We just returned from a 7 night stay at the Hotel Mansart and found it to be a lovely hotel! It was blissfully removed from the more touristy areas of the 1st, but still easily accessible to the Louvre by foot.
It was a quick walk to the Opera metro station, with Madeline and Touilleries stations also within walking distance.
The hotel staff was very helpful prior to our arrival, making dinner reservations for us each night. They also tried to get us one of our rooms ready early, as we arrived at 6:30 am from our overseas flight. I did find that the desk staff, at times, was not as open to finding out information for us as what we have seen at hotels with concierge service. However, over all they were quite nice and I very much appreciated them making the dining arrangements for us.
We had one Vendome room and one Mansart room which were connecting. The rooms were quite large and tastefully decorated. The one room was a two-level room with the bathroom located upstairs. The baths were large and modern with bathrobes and large, fluffy towels.
My husband found the beds to be quite hard, but they never bothered the rest of our family. We slept very well each night.
The rooms were kept very clean and were always made up fairly early in the day.
We had no outside noise from any construction mentioned in other reviews.
Also in response to a previous reviewer, (I think we might have had the same rooms), the walls do seem to be a little thin and you can hear people through them. We were blessed to be by polite people all week, and were only aware that someone was there, but couldn't hear the conversations, etc. We had no problems with smoke in the hotel; there was not even the smell of old smoke any place. The hallway floors are indeed creaky, but I kind of saw that as the charm of an old Parisian hotel.
We really enjoyed the petit dejeuner each morning in the breakfast room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Mansart during the first part of April, 2008. When we arrived at the hotel we were surprised and disappointed to see the hotel facade covered in scaffolding since this was not mentioned to us prior to our arrival. Needless to say, our view was very much obstructed and we were awoken at 8:00am by workers outside our windows.
We stayed in a Mansart Room. It was VERY spacious and the ceilings were tall, which was wonderful. The room seemed to be in need of a good cleaning and touch up. The carpet was pretty dirty, and the comforter on the bed was dingy. The room seemed to be caving in and the floors were very uneven, which some may find charming since we are talking about Paris. The bathroom was great! Large and light and updated... I just wish we didn't have to worry about workers on scaffolding peeking in.
Wireless did not work in our room (which was a major bummer), but did in our friend's room. Regarding our friend's room... it was a standard room and still spacious. His floors were not caving in, and his windows were able to open- unlike ours. We actually wanted to take his room when he left, but didn't.
Two of the days during our stay at Hotel Mansart we were bombarded with intrusive sex screams from our next door neighbors. It was invasive and nasty. VERY loud... I was almost scared for the woman. I was totally grossed out and called down to report the noise level to the front desk. During this call I also reported the strong cigarette smell in our room. The front desk did nothing. I called the next day when the same thing happened. Nothing from the front desk. I also called a third time to complain about the cigarette smoke literally seeping into our room. (There was a door linking the 2 rooms that would not completely close.) Nothing. This is supposedly a non-smoking hotel.
Although the hotel is in a great location, I will not be staying here again.

This is such a lovely hotel. The positive reviews were completely correct. I came here with my boyfriend for my birthday, and the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable. They spoke English well, but tolerated my rusty French just fine.
What I really loved was that they took the time to select a room that was going to make our stay wonderful, particularly because my boyfriend had mentioned upon booking that it was my birthday weekend in Paris. We got a lovely room with a terrace. We knew the check in was around 2.00. We left our bags there around 9.30 am, and they told us to come by around 1 and that our room would be ready then. We walked over to the Louvre and wandered the Denon wing until it was time to check in. Our room was ready at that time, and we took a lovely nap in the airy, well-lit room, complete with a TV (we didn't use it) and sitting room table. The room was quiet, we felt like the only people in the hotel, though it was clear quite a few others were in the hotel at the time. The bathroom had a hair dryer and plenty of hot water, clean and well-lit.
The location is fabulous, just steps from Place Vend?me, and the Jardin Tuileries. From there one can go to the Champs-Elys?es and the Arc de Triomphe for a lovely evening tromp.
I love this hotel.

From the moment we arrived we felt very comfortable and at home. The room sizes are substantial by Paris standards and it is well located to access Paris attractions. The staff were great. There are great places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in close proximity.
We would definitely stay here again as it represents good value for money.

Our stay in Paris was made all the more special thanks to the staff of the Hotel Mansart. One person in our party had cancer and was in a lot of pain during the trip, and the staff arranged for a wheelchair we were allowed to use for the rest of the trip. They also got us reservations at the Jules Verne, an experience I'll never forget.
The rooms were HUGE by Paris standards, and very well kept. Clean and beautiful. I didn't order much from room service, but the couple things I did try for breakfast (breads and fruit) were fine.
And finally, the location can't be beat. It's walking distance to the Louvre, Oprea, and Champs Elysee. If you're lucky enough to score a room here, you won't regret it!
