The Derby Garibaldi was a good place to stay for my family. It was well located directly across from the tube and only a block or so from a laundromat. It was also within a 15 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; we couldn't ask for better service.
There were a few small glitches though, that I'd be remiss in not mentioning. When we arrived they did not have a booking for us, though I'm not sure if this was their fault or Veneer.com. They put us in a beautiful large room with 2 bathrooms (possibly a quad). Then they moved us to a small triple room. Of course, once you taste desert it's hard to go back to potatoes. After the large room, this one seemed very small, but was still much more than we expected when we came to Paris.
The room was very quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The glitch was that it smelled like sewer. When I mentioned it to the manager, he did do something to lessen it (air spray possibly?) but the smell was back the next day before we checked out. I'm sure it's not a common problem or they wouldn't have put us in there.

Great hotel for the money.

We stayed here with our family of 12 (5 rooms). Hotel is very clean, good breakfast, and a helpful staff. The Metro stop is across the street. Walking distance to Eiffle Tower (long Walk). They have an arrangement with a garage for reasonable parking. Would highly recommend.

I've just returned from a 4 day trip with my 12 year old and chose this hotel rather lazily because it is opposite a Metro station (Sevres Lecourbe, line 6 - just south west of the centre) and we were looking for the easiest way of getting around.
Our room was on the first floor literally facing the overground Metro platform but noise was not a problem at all. Our room was lovely - larger than we'd expected, beautifully clean, equipped with tv, minibar, hairdryer and bath (as opposed to just a shower) - couldn't really ask for more. The staff were extremely helpful and couteous.
We didn't opt for the 13? per person breakfast on athe advice of other review - the brasserie on the corner will easily satisfy two people for the same price. The best thing about the hotel was knowing that at the end of an exhausitng day sightseeing, you could be in bed witin 3 minutes of getting off your train.
I would willingly return to this hotel and recommend it highly.

Just returned from 3 nights at the Derby Garibaldi.
We thought the hotel was very good. Room was spacious and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but nice.
Location is great - opposite metro station and you can also walk to Eifel Tower and some other attractions. Restarants, cafes and shops all close by.
For a nice restaurant try "Les Pieds dans le plat" a 5 minute walk from the hotel on Boulevard Garibaldi. 3 courses 22 EURO, 2 courses 19 EURO - food is fantastic!
