Very nice hotel, away from the central chaos that makes u think u r not even at napoli. the view from the rooms of Castel Ovo and the Golfo of napoli is beautiful. The rooms are amazingly big and very clean. The staff were very helpful in helping us with our excursions.
The breakfast room overlooking the castello was breathtaking a great way to start the day.

Naples is my favourite Italian destination. I love it's charm, contrasts and chaos. The Royal Continental Hotel is situated within a stone's throw from the pulsating city center and can easily be reached by public transport (C4 and C140). Although to some the interior of the Royal Continental may be dated, which I in fact consider part of it's charm, it's lobby and rooms are spacious and clean. All superior rooms face the ancient Castel dell'Ovo and the isle of Capri. The breakfast is abundant. In my opinion a stay at this hotel is highly recommended.

This Hotel is in a great spot with views over the bay. Our standard double was quite large, had a balcony and was nicely decorated and comfortable. I found the staff attitudes a bit mixed - one of indifference to really helpful - particularly helpful when I wanted to book a private car to take us sightseeing. Naples is an 'interesting' city and you do need you wits about you depending on which area you stay in - the area near the station is really seedy. By contrast the area around this hotel and the castle opposite are lovely - good, relatively inexpensive restaurants on your doorstep too. The taxi drivers in Naples have a bad reputation and deservedly so - again we had mixed experiences - with charges tfrom 12 to 40 euros for the same journey - they often switch the meter off too!. We would stay here again and it's an ideal base for a shot break - particularly for exploring Naples itself, plus Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum.

I researched Naples before travelling and it was well worth it as the city itself is dire. This hotel is beatifully situated in the middle of The Bay of Naples. Views are terrific from the balcony (especially at sunset with a glass of Prosecco & dish of olives), room a good size, good selection at breakfast although bacon & eggs were always too cold. Staff helpful, contrary to some reviews. Local restaurants of good quality and reasonable value. We took trips, booked at hotel reception, to Capri, Vesuvius & Pompei and Amalfi Coast tour all of which were fantastic. In four days we had a fabulous relaxing break.

I stayed with a school group and was so pleased in the room that I was given. Some were given rooms in the un-rennovated portions of the hotel and I felt sorry for them as their rooms looked like a Hilton from the 70s.
My room was chic, elegant, had an amazing bay view, balcony, tons of space, and an immaculate bathroom!
The breakfast buffet was nice but the view was better. Every morning I found myself getting up earlier so that I can enjoy more time with the view and the coffee. I also enjoyed the use of the fitness facilities!
One thing that is good about this location is it's proximity to the port, from which you can take a day trip to Capri. It was only a 15 min walk along the coastline to the ferry (hydrofoil NOT recommended for those with any motion sickness).
Pictures to come...
