I stayed at this hotel with my family (including 3 children) during May/June 2008. I agree that the outside of the hotel could do with a lick of paint but i hardly think this would ruin someones stay here. We were at the hotel at the same time as the ballet company and found that i could hear no noise from the nightclub on site (which is at the furthest point away from the hotel) but actually when i could hear noise, it was coming from their party (on their last night at the hotel music was blaring from their rooms till past 3am), so i would think their review a little unfair especially as i was in the same block as their group and none of my party shared their experiences. Housekeeping were lovely and kept the room immaculate and offered us extra towels everyday. We had a great view of the marina and there are lots of nice places to eat close by. There is a bus service which runs regularly and is handy to get about too. Also, on a Sunday there is a great farmer's market on situated on the marina where you can get great fruit etc. Our key cards failed a few times but i found this was because i had kept them next to my mobile phone (which can wipe the magnetic strip) - so that was no fault of the hotel. Staff were polite and friendly - especially Angela and Lanette who were very helpful, even helping to book a trip for my parents to Vegas. We spent a great 2 weeks here after initially being very nervous due to reviews on this site, we found no problems and had an enjoyable stay, i would stay here again if i went to Long Beach. We had a fridge and a microwave in our room aswell as a tv, there are about 15 channels, but i dont go on holiday to watch tv, it was handy for the kids though. A good time had by all - my advice is to make your own opinion, too many of these reviews are unfair - i think some people expect the Hilton!!!!

First, this is not a hotel, but a motel. We stayed 2 nights and both nights loud noise from the club and people yelling in the parking lots woke us up. The staff did nothing to resolve. We were greeted at the front desk by a sign that read, “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.” The building is falling apart with stucco flaking of the exterior walls, paint peeling and the fan in our bathroom sounded like a freight train. Perhaps that’s why there are no pictures of the buildings or grounds on their web site. Wireless Internet access is an additional charge and is spotty at best and there is no breakfast. This is the worst place I have ever stayed.

I read up prior reviews of the hotel and was a bit hesitant. But I concluded that people either love it or hate it. I called the hotel directly and ask about rates. With excellent phone etiquette, I decided to book a room for the three nights I'm in town. I stayed there and thought is was actually good. They have balconies, a pool, and many restaurants nearby!

I Read up on the Seaport Marina prior to attending a conference and did not find any positive reviews. I like to make my own opinions on things and decided to stay on the property where my conference was scheduled. Arrived around 8:00 PM and no cars were in the parking lot ( not a good sign), surrounding hotels seemed busy. The first room (217) smelled and looked creepy. switched to an executive room (317) and a little less creepy but still had an oder. The dead bolt did not lock and the beds were old and needed upgrading (rough sleep). Carpets were old and looked gross. NO roaches were seen by this reviewer.
The staff appeared to be working very hard to accommodate our needs. The maids were nice and the maintenance crews were working hard to keep up the property. Bottom line, I think the owners are trying to squeeze as much income without having to improve the property.
The Seaport has seen better days and is ready for the recking ball.
On a positive note, restaurants were close (Claim Jumpers, In and Out Burger and a couple of steak houses) and the place was cheap $79.00 per night. You get what you pay for.
