The Inn At the Mountain in Stowe Vermont is one of the best, My dad and I stayed 3 nights here and had fun skiing. This inn was crowded (every single room) but thats only because it is located at the best ski resort in the East! (my opinion). Even though it was great, there was one thing different from other hotels and motels. The Fireside Tavern is a resturant there, the only problem is that it does not offer complimentary food to inn guests. The food is great but I figured that guests would get some kind of discount... anyway the rooms were nice and clean, the front desk staff was freindly, and there is a nice relaxation room with games, tv's, vending machines, and pool tables, even if you don't ski you should be entertained.
Here is my opinion on the best thing to do in the morning for skiiers, get in your car and head to the four-runner quad at 7:30am (the toll house lift doesnt open until 9) the four-runner is much faster too. If you haven't skiied in a while don't panic, just take the toll road all the way down, this is a gentle but fun slope. Just a little story - On my first day of the 3 - day trip, I crashed and burned over on main street at Spruce, boy did that put a dent in my ego, I hyperflexed my left leg and stopped skiing at noon, my leg was sore for 2 months, the second day of skiing was just a confidence builder for me, I wanted to ski so badly that I ignored the pain and hit the slopes, of course it was all green slopes for me that day, and toll road was one of my favorites and the third day I was skiing fine.
If you go to Stowe and the Inn at the Mountain, here's some advice, have fun, and don't crash!!!!!!!!

My wife and I booked one night to celebrate our anniversary, we got a great rate because it was off season. Our room was a suite with a King bed, and we had a patio that overlooked a small pond at the back of the hotel. We enjoyed it so much, we asked if we could book another night, then went and got our kids and let them enjoy the beauty of Vermont in the fall. The staff was great, and took care of our every needs. The only downside was the restaurant wasn't open, and we had to drive down the mountain about 8 miles to find a restaurant.

Very good place to ski Stowe. The lift is a short hop away. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit dated, but had the feeling of stepping back in time when I assume Stowe was a quaint 'family-run' resort. Restaurant is very pleasant, but a bit pricey. Breakfast included would have been more 'inn-like' and less Stowe 'corporate-like'.
Recommended.

The Inn was beautiful, large rooms, nice views, easy access to the lift, indoor corridors and excellent restaurant. In the room, the toilet seat area was way too tight, I nearly didn't fit (I weigh 280 but my wife is 170 and she complained too) and bumped the wall next to the seat when using it. I had trouble connecting with their Wi-Fi and even when helped couldn't get it working. The jacuzzi and weight rooms are not in the building, so be ready to go outside when you get back from the slopes.
