We were very disappointed with the Gabriella Hotel and I honestly feel that a number of the reviews either had a very different room then we had or the hotel has really dropped its standards. We were told that it was a three star hotel and I would barely give it a two. Our Room #20, was just down the hall from the reception area. When we opened the door we just about passed out from the heat. When we couldn't figure out how to turn on the air conditioner my husband went back to the receptionist who told him that the air conditioner didn't work in that room. He asked for a room where it did work and was told not to worry, the air conditioning wasn't turned on until June anyway. We opened the window onto a very noisy street. The room actually had a smell to it and I noticed mold in the bathroom around the shower and also around the window. I actually took pictures of the mold. The hallways have Air Freshener sprays and wicker oil scents to mask odors. The breakfast was included in the price and was mediocre. You are only allowed one tea or coffee but the servers were pleasant. The bed was not very comfortable but I couldn't sleep just because the heat was terrible in the room. The shower was the smallest I have ever been in and my ballet training came in very well when I dropped the soap and had to do a demi-plie to get it. I think the maid did her best to keep it clean but the ventilation caused the mold problems. The elevator is also very small but beats hauling your suitcase up to your room.. The Hotel is close to Rome Termini the main rail and Metro station. The area is a little seedy but adequate. We were very happy to check out and head to the airport where we found our plane was overbooked and we were then given a lovely room at the Hilton. I certainly would not recommend this hotel. Even in my back-packing youth, I wouldn't pay the money they asked for the poor room we received.

This was the second Hotel we stayed at in Rome during our Italy holiday. It is in walking distance from the Termini, there are not hundred of stairs to go up. The staff are friendly and helpful, cheap internet use is available. The rooms were very clean and quiet. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast staff really friendly. Very good Hotel for the price and location, no complaints whatsoever.

Well located within walking distance from Rome Termini. Elevator was out of order so required a one story walk up. Clean and comfortable family run operation. Very good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Pleasant service and hospitalbe management. Good price.
