We love staying here! When I mentioned to my teenage son, that we should take our yearly Mammoth ski trip, he begged for us to stay at the Austria Hof again. The location is extremely close to the lifts, the breakfast is a great way to start off a day of skiing, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is very accommodating. We received a great room rate, ski package, and dinner at their delicious restaurant for a really low, reasonable rate. Our Mammoth trip was fabulous, thanks to Austria Hof! We will see you next year!

I had one of the best overall hotel experiences while staying at "the hof". It is right across the lot from Canyon Lodge, has ski lockers, a great continental breakfast, outdoor jacuzzi (with view of the slopes), comfortable beds, and an amazing housekeeper. One can hit the bar after skiing, and then enjoy Austrian fare at their restaurant. From check-in until departure we felt like family.

It's better to have a GPS to find the hotel, is not in the center of the town. The room was correct and the restaurant was very good and the waiter very friendly.
What a pity for the breakfast, you have to take this in the hall or in your bedroom and it's better to be at first..

Great location if you want to be walking distance to lifts, but too far to walk to village or town. Good continental breakfast in the AM with freash fruit being a nice touch in addition to cereal, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs and juice. Also very good dinners at the onsite restaurant.
I agree with other reviews about staff not being overly friendly, but we did not have any problems with check in, checkout, or with our room. The rooms are European in nature and are a bit crowded for a family of four, but it was OK for a 2 night stay. The pillow top beds are comfy!
The outdoor spa, although having a good view of the mountain, appeared to have a science experiment going on it it with cloudy greenish water and algae growing in parts of the sidewall. We still went in to ease the post-skiing soreness, but we all took showers afterwards to decontaminate. Management definitely needs to perform better regular maintennace and chemical balancing!
Besides the green and somewhat smelly spa water, it was a fine place to stay, but better for a couple or family with one child rather than a family of four.

Without a doubt, Austria Hof has the charm and comfort of a european hotel. It is a small hotel with all the amenities, including a great lounge and reataurant. The owner continually upgrades the rooms and the location for skiers is outstanding. We have been staying at Austria Hof for many years, both summer and winter and it is always great.
