I think that this hotel has been remodled. I stayed here for CinEvent in May, and I thought it was a very nice hotel. Certainly not the Ritz, but the rooms were clean and certainly not disgusting as some other reviews posted.
The two negative things: the confusing and broken elevators and the barmaid who was more interested in flirting with a policeman than waiting on customers!

we stayed for the kiddie tractor pull event, this was the recommended hotel. suppose to get a great discount because of mentioning being in this pulling event, If $93.00 is a good ----discount for a hotel that had clogged tub drain, oh yes maintence did put draino in the tub and asked us not to use it., for 8 hours. I have 8 month old twins who had to smell this so I asked to be moved to new accomadations and they didn't seem to think that this was important to address for us. Then to top it off there was no, and I mean no hot water even if you wanted to take a bath. Would you really want to stay there and actually pay for three rooms for your families, having no staff to give a hoot. oh yes they did get their money. though I guess that is all that is suppose to count at the midwest hotel, it certainly was the impression we recieved when nothing was offered to be done to help us i n the now Ramada Inn!!!!!!!! very disappointed will look for new rooms for next jan. Upset grandmother who took her grandkids to have a nice weekend.

This property is an overpriced dump. I saw no signs whatsoever of remodeling. Everything including beds, linens, furniture and carpet was outdated and inferior. The staff was inefficient, unaccommodating and rude. The manager was unavailable and would not return my calls. STAY AWAY! FAR AWAY!

oh my...this hotel has SO many issues they truly need to gut the place and start over.
let me first start by saying that the two reviews below me MUST be from staff/management becuase there is NO way that anyone that has EVER stayed in ANY kind of hotel before could gave this place a 5* rating.
ALSO -- THE PICTURES ON THE HOTEL'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE ARE NOT *AT ALL* REPRESENTATIVE OF THE ACTUAL HOTEL--OUR ROOM LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES ON THE WEB.
we got this as a '2.5*' on hotwire. it was not a 2.5 star...maybe a 1, maybe.
the place is old, very outdated, and in poor condition.
the only pros about this place are that it's cheap, and for the most mart the staff seemed nice (not professional, but nice)
here is my list of cons, which I suggest you read completely before even considering this place:
CONS:
-SERIOUS safety issues (outside exits left unlocked, no lighting in parking lot, people loitering around hotel and parking lot at night, some corridors in hotel had lights turned off, cleaning cart left sitting in the lobby for 24 hours)
-CLEANLINESS (hallway and public area carpet had a dark gray tone to it...I noticed blood/vomit/who knows what stains in many places, our mattress and comforter also had bodily fluid stains on it...GROSS!, there was old food under our dresser, blood/vomit stain on mattress)
-CONDITION (everything old and worn, outdated color scheme, etc.)
MORAL OF THE STORY -- STAY AWAY!

Great hotel! I was told that the hotel was under new management as of
Jan. 2007. I had saw the photos taken in 2006 and I was suprised to see the amount of work that the new company has put into this hotel. The beds were very nice...kinda like the Westin beds, the ceiling had
been completely redone, and the staff were very friendly and very efficient! I would recommend this hotel to everyone. I will definatly
return to the hotel! Great job new owners!
