We read the previous reviews and were scepitcal about staying here, we should not have been, the hotel whilst a smaller type of city centre hotel it was excellent. The hotel was so good for transport links, simply walk out the door a catch a Number 31 Bus and 5 minutes later you are at the Arc de Triumph, which is a great "hub" to connect to all Metro lines. This was so easy to get around.
The rooms are not huge but are clean and tidy, we did not notice any excessive noise coming from the streets. The breakfast was excellent!!! lots of choice and well presented.
PS. Buy the Paris Metro Visitor Ticket, which gives you unlimited trave, bus, metro, ReR within the city, for 3 days ours was only 19 euros, great value!
We would happily stay there again.

Unfortunately my first trip to Paris was spoiled when my boyfriend's mobile phone and all my money were stolen from our bedroom when we went down to breakfast. We were only away from the room for 20 minutes and came back to find that someone had been in our bedroom and taken our things. There was no forced entry suggesting that it must have been someone connected to the hotel. The staff weren't particularly helpful and didn't offer us any compensation - not even a reduction on the bill. My boyfriend and I were left to try and salvage what was left of the weekend (after spending 3 hours at the police station), without any money and despite several letters, we've not heard anything from the hotel since....So if you're going to book at this hotel, don't assume that locking your bedroom door will be enough to keep your belongings safe.

Having prebooked a room at this hotel for 4 nights, I was a little concerned after reading the negative review detailing a recent theft from one of the hotel rooms.however, the hotel exceeded our expectations and we were very pleased that we decided not to cancel the booking at the last minute. (A room safe is available). The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was bigger than we had expected. The bathroom had a full sized bath with a very powerful shower. There was plenty of hot water at all times and the tolietries were restocked on a daily basis. The room was very comfortable and clean and the bedlnen / towels were changed daily. The reception/lounge area is very comfortable.
The hotel was well situated and within a few minutes walking distance from either Villiers or Rome metro stations. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to travel from Gare du Nord.. The area between Villiers metro and the hotel has a great choice of brasseries/ restaurants/ patisseries and shops. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel and preferred to try a range of cafes nearby.
The only negative comment I would make relates to the noisy road junction immediately outside the hotel and the noise from the railway line across the road. However, when the windows are shut the noise is reduced by 90% and it would not dissuade us from staying there again. I would definately recommend this hotel for it's cleanliness, comfort and position and hope to stay there again when returning to this superb city.

Bad location in one of the worst area in Paris (far from everything even from a metro station !), with unpolite, unhelpful and cold staff.
Cold atmosphere, 1 star service and (very very) poor breakfast...
Tiny cramped room, quite clean and well decorated, but you will have to spend your time on the bed as there is no space to move around, very relaxing !!
Advertised wi-fi access is provided by the hotel next door (Mercure hotel's hotspot)...
Do not order a taxi, it will never be requested by the unefficient Front desk...
No invoice when check out, no interest when complaining, even no "goodbye thank you !!"
Well, a short stay with no emotion, won't be back !
