On July 4th we checked into the Waimea lodge. We loved the location of the property. Once we opened the door to our room, we realized the room on the inside did not match the beautiful surrondings on the outside.
When we first walked into the room 119, immediately after opening the door, there was a very musty smell. We notice the carpet was dirty and sticky. The 2 chairs in the room were so full of stains that we did not even put our bags on them let alone sit on them. One of the beds had gecko droppings all over them. There was no knob on the fan broken. The bed was very very very lumpy. The outlet with the lamp plugged into it was loose so the light would flicker. The toilet paper holder hung by one screw on one side, which eventually broke off. The curtains were full of dust. Finally, we caught two moths flying around our room.
If it was any other weekend but the forth of July, I would have walked out and requested my reservations be cancelled immediately without any penalty. However since it was a holiday weekend and most places were booked, I knew we didn’t have much options.

First off this hotel was way too expensive for what it was. For $115 a night I would expect maybe some coffee in the room, hot water that takes less that 5 minutes to get to the shower, and general cleanliness (windows were filthy, bathroom had a few stains on the wall and there were a few holes in walls around the room). It was the cheapest place in Waimea, but it would probably be worth it to find a place in another town nearby.

A big thumbs down

We chose this hotel at the last minute because we were passing through the area. A travel guide recommended it, but I can't understand why. This hotel charged us $130 for a basic room, off-season. It was clean and everything worked fine but in the morning it's very loud (trucks) and there are no ammenities which would justify this price. They could do better for this rate... and so could you... elsewhere.
Great location - but do not stay here

Good location to Parker Ranch - BUT the facility was old, dirty, and OVER PRICED for the quality. Our room was at the end of a dark, smelly hallway and the bathroom was disgustingly dirty
We left the lights on all night - after killing 2 roaches.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our honeymoon. We were driving around the island and just needed a cheap place to stay, and this was it. The room was large, with two king-sized beds, and clean but nothing fancy. Our windows looked out onto the schoolyard behind us, which was nice. One thing we really liked was that the motel was within walking distance of the town's shops and restaurants, so we could go for a stroll or enjoy dinner with a bottle of wine and not worry about having to drive.
