Great location and Good for Family of Five

We chose this hotel because we are a family of five, and needed a single room to accommodate us. From the reviews, I was expecting something very rundown, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Our room (109) was smartly painted in refreshing two-tone blues, and was quite appealing. The room was almost a 2 room suite, with 2 queen beds in the main section and another bed + trundle in a partitioned area, plus a bathroom with bathtub. It had a wardrobe, a good sized bar fridge with small freezer section and even had a microwave. Also a flatscreen TV mounted on the wall.
The bath towels were generally small and thin, but you can ask for bigger, thicker towels. A real bonus is that the housekeeper will do a fair-sized bag of laundry for only $10.
We bought breakfast supplies at a nearby Duane Reade store and ate in our room mornings. For dinner, try the GoGo Curry (Japanese) restaurant adjacent to the hotel for a cheap but excellent meal.
The area is noisy, especially weekends, but the noise is quite effectively masked by the a/c unit.
Finally, the location in central Manhattan is fantastic, very close to Times Square and the Empire State Building.

I had to make a very last-minute trip to NYC and booked this hotel just for a place to sleep.
I chose this hotel because, of the very few hotels in Manhatten with rooms available on 24 hours notice, it was the only one that cost less than about $300 per night. Which isn't to say it was cheap, but it was the best price available by far.
The hotel is extremely basic, containing only the rooms and a front desk which is not clearly signed as belonging to the hotel. The location is easy enough to find if you have the address (and is a short walk from Penn Station), but there is nothing resembling an actual hotel entrance or lobby.
However I was aware of this all in advance and was therefore not bothered by it. The room itself was completely acceptable - not huge but large enough, with a clean and functional bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The room seemed quite clean overall and I saw absolutely no sign of bugs - but since other reviewers have mentioned this is it still worth checking carefully (I did).
Overall, an acceptable place to stay if you just need a bed for the night and are on a budget (or feeling cheap, as I was). Probably not a place I'd stay for more than a night or two, however.

I?m traveling with a group of 15 students, i?ve visited N.Y. four times before and stayed at the Hudson Hotel one time and at different midtown hostels the other two. Saving the proportions (Hudson Hotel was designed by Phillippe Starck), the rooms of the Hudson Hotel are the same size as the Manhattan Broadway. At hostels you?ve to share bathrooms, not at the Manhattan Broadway. The staff service is great, they?re very helpful. The security around the area is great, it?s New York City, so you might see some crazy stuff, a lot of noise and small details every budget hotel has. Definately there are NO rats or roaches, at least we didn?t see them or hear them..... The facade is awful but who cares.... and so on. My point is: Don?t be scared by the reviews... if youre not a picky person, this is your hotel...

Rooms are small, but it is NYC. Except that, I had no problem spending a few nights at this place.
Clean rooms, wireless internet, friendly staff.
