We went to Astrakhan to adopt our little boy and stayed at Korvet a total of three seperate trips. We also stayed at the Viktoria but Korvet had so much more to offer I thought. There was a fridge in room, plenty of space. Our room had a small sitting area seperate from the sleeping area(seperated by vertical blinds). The bed was a little uncomfy but I was 7 months preggers so I dont think any bed would have suited me. Husband slept just fine in it. The thing that struck me as different was that the bathroom door was not solid, it had a window in it. not a clear window but a window nonetheless. Never saw anything like it. It was near the open market as well as some pubs and a small grocery. ALWAYS had hot water. they ironed husbands suit for him. they let us use the internet in their lobby. Breakfast was provided. The breakfasts we encountered brought no end to amazement at how different life is in Russia than back home in the states. Overall it was nice enough place and I would stay there again. Loved the towel warmers in the bathroom. No face cloths though so keep that in mind if traveling there.

I stayed at this hotel in 1999 while on a construction project. Total time spent there was about 5 months. The hotel was undergoing renovation at that time. I stayed in one of the renovated rooms. It had good air conditioning, satellite TV and plenty of hat water as they have their own boiler and don't depend upon the city steam supply. Rooms are clean and several are large. A restaurant is on the premises. It is not centally located so transportation is necessary. They clearly want to cater to western businessman.
