Koventa Seta is a reasonably priced 3 star hotel located in the very heart of 'Vecriga', old town of Riga.
Essentially you're paying for location with this hotel but it is clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were quite reserved and quiet but also very helpful with requests we had.
Breakfast wasn't the best (in my opinion) but again, what you pay for is what you get.... It is a comfortable 3 star hotel very well located in the old town.
Overall, would class as 'good' rather than 'above average' and would recommend for those travelling to Riga on holiday.

There's not that many hotels in Riga who beat Konventa Seta when it comes to location.
The rest of it is avarage. The breakfast is ok, our room was spacy, clean and very simple.
The room did'nt had any frig - only a closet for it. So we asked for some icecubes to our water. - We don't do that service, was the answear we got.
I think that this hotel, with just a few grips, could move up a skill. Like making the rooms a bit more cozier. The easiest to start with could be with a smile or that people greats you with the frontdesk. At least look in your eyes.
It did'nt happen at all during our stay.

Went on business to Riga in June. Hotel was recommended by a colleague and was very central and in the traffic restricted zone in the city. The bedroom was good quality and the staff pleasant, if not very friendly. The breakfast was good and the general ambience of the hotel was one of comfort without being luxurious. The location is the most appealing characteristic and the lack of traffic and the very pleasant pedestrianised area means a relaxed environment.
There are some nice restaurants nearby and a plenty of bars where one can sit outside and enjoy the scenery.
Riga struck me as being expensive (and that from one living in one of Europes most expensive areas) and prices on shop windows and in restaurants do not seem to reflect a country that is still developing. It is a very beautiful city and well worth exploring with nice walks and a plentiful supply of public transport.

This hotel is all about LOCATION. A couple of steps away from Kalku Iela (main street in the Old Town), Livu Square, Centrs Shopping Center, etc.. The rooms are ok, quite big and equipped according to 3-star standards.
BUT AT NIGHT BEWARE: Avoid the rooms towards the alley way outside the Hotel. First of all there is a Disco accross the alley that will keep you up all night with a monotone thumping sound, which you can hear AND feel as well. Plus there is yelling, screaming, swearing, crying, glass breaking and virtually any other kind of noise you can imagine outside the window ALL NIGHT. This is a huge problem in summer when the windows have to stay open due to the lack of air-conditioning. We hardly slept two winks during our 2 night stay from the 19th to the 21st of July.
Staff is indifferent, same as you will find in most Latvian Hotels. But things are improving slowly, at least in Riga.
Would I stay there again? Probably yes BUT NOT in a room towards the street/alley way
