Like many of the reviews that are written here, the hotel is still under renovation.
Even though they are working on updating the hotel, the accomodations were not good. The rooms are old communist style rooms. The bathrooms were bad... The shower... OMG... Not good.
Only WIFI in the lobby, which cost $5 for 30 min.
The only upside to this hotel, is it's proximity to many Kiev hotspots. It's a 10 min walk from Patipa, one of the better night clubs in Kiev.
I do not recommend this hotel...

I stayed at the Khreschatik Hotel for only 1 night in October 2007.
The façade is being reworked but that didn’t matter too much. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and checked in pretty quickly. I also booked a taxi there and then for the following morning back to the airport easily enough.
I stayed in a double-room (two single beds) for single occupancy on the 4th floor which looked out the rear of the building. Not a bad room at all but seeing as I was only there1 night I wasn’t too fussed – it was clean and bright with a comfy bed and pillows and a decent enough bathroom. Couple of small gripes – there wasn’t a plug for the sink or bath, but had plenty of hot water for a wash and shower. The fridge was a bit noisy but was able to shut a door to keep the noise out.
You’ll most probably get a call around 11pm or so from someone offering their ‘services’… all part of the experience in my opinion and you shouldn't be put off by it.
I was given a token on arrival for breakfast at the restaurant a couple doors down – that was fine, I was served quickly and my ham, cheese and tomato omelette went down a treat. Bit of toast and juice and I was all set.
When I checked out it was pretty painless too and the reception staff were courteous. My taxi was ready and waiting at the right time – it cost 150UAH to get to Borispol airport. Journey time was maybe 30 mins in a clean and comfortable car. No problems there.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to the Khreschatyk for a short stay. Couple of nights at most so long as you don’t expect too much.
One last thing – I made my booking via a UK and Ukraine-based operator who were very helpful – not sure if I can mention them here but I’d recommend them. Print off your booking confirmation when you get it, sign and keep hold of it until you’re there, then hand it to reception on arrival – it makes for quick and easy check-in and there’s no need to communicate with the hotel directly.

Problems started with the reservation. My mail wasn't replied to, so I phoned and made my reservation to a guy with very little english. When we arrived, the bellhop guided us to a room that was barely more than a shoebox. Upon my request, it turned out that my reservation for a two-room suite was erratically booked as a single room for two (sic!).
The room was by no means a suite as you would expect it - more like a bit oversized usual double room. The fridge (soviet saratov brand) made terrible noise, furniture, doors and walls all looked a bit grudgy. The bath was by no means up to three-star standard, the advertised satellite TV consisted of five ukrainian and one french channel.
Due to renovations, the breakfast had to be taken in an adjacent building, some kind of folklore restaurant. A so-so omelette, two slices of toast, ordinary coffee and tomato juice ("sorry, no orange").
All in all, the hotel standard, tidyness, breakfast quality and overall quality of service, especially when compared to the website, was very disappointing and definitely not worth the price or three stars, not even for eastern standards.
If it weren't for the good location and the quite nice view, this would be a straight "terrible" rating.

terrible old Soviet-style hotel crying out for remodeling - worn out carpet, dark spots on the bathtub due to wear out, very old and worn out furniture, chipped off and broken off sides of the doors alone the dead-bolt.
We were charged $300 per night for 2 rooms, so not worth it - in US you would pay no more than $50 for those 2 rooms.
The fee included a fee for continental breakfast (charged $12 per person but worth about $3 - egg, toast, cup of juice and tiny cup of instant coffee). Clerks will not deduct the cost of breakfast from the fee for the room if you chose not to take the coupon for it.
Cigarette smoke or tobacco odor is everywhere.
TV is hardly tuned - problems with reception - you can only watch 2-3 channels even they advertise about 20.
The worse experience was with the night sleep - we were woken up every single night by the telephone - every night around 12 AM the phone was ringing until we answered, with the live greeting "I am a lady. Would you like to have massage and sex tonight?".
My family was very upset and we complained to the front desk - we got the advice to disconnect the phone line because they can not protect us from these solicitations.
one night a prostitute knocked my door instead of the door next to mine.
My advise - stay away from this hotel!
Truly terrible and disgusting place in the middle of Kiev.

Biggest surprise: being charged for my entire 3-night stay when I checked in, without being asked. I assumed the clerk was swiping my card to check the available credit, but instead she charged the entire stay, and then refused to allow me to pay at the end of my stay.
The smell of old cigarette smoke permeated everything in my room and in the hotel.
Only 2 electrical plugs in the room: you could EITHER have air conditioning or watch television, but not both, because there was only one plug that could serve both.
No safe in the room: the guest guide in the room offers the service of a safe deposit box in the hotel office. I was reluctant to turn over my travel documents and foreign currency to them.
There is a bidet in the bathroom, but it was non-functional. The water pressure was sufficient, and there was a hot water in the shower whenever I used it.
Oddly, no facial tissue was provided in the room. You are expected to use the toilet paper, which is the third-world brown and rough kind.
Like another review of this hotel, I too received calls from hookers at night in my room, after I'd gone to sleep.
The breakfast in the restaurant was edible, if meager, but the service staff alternated between surly and silent.
When my client came to check out the room, she took one look around and said, "a soviet room!" - as in the time of the Soviet Union.
I regret I did not take photos.
A plus: the free, public WiFi worked well in the lobby; I abandoned my suspicions of potential wireless eavesdropping to download my mail when I could not dial-up my email because the hotel phone system still uses pulse dialing.
