Stayed here for a week in March. First impressions on pulling up outside was oh my god what have we booked!! The outside seriously lets its down!!
Inside though the apartments were very clean and spacious.
Had to move apartments during the first day = first apartment had the most squeaky floor boards ever - TV system didnt work, went out and was told it would be fixed. Came back in and said no we cant fix it. So they moved us up a floor - much better apartment no squeaky floors, though did find them quite slippy in the living area!!
The only bad thing about them was quite noisy on a morning from the restaurant/bar opposite emptying there bottle bills early in the morning.
Also there Reception staff need to learn more about there place of work! Asked them a couple of questions about the apartments and she didnt know!! Not a good look.
Apart from that easy walking distance to Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle. Very private, excellent facilities for cooking and relaxing. Dvd player and music system extra plus.
Would definitely stay here again.

We spent one night at the hotel and it was just what we expected. Comfortable room, freindly and attentive staff, great location for walking uptown. If you need a comfortable hotel with no special frills, it's a very good place to stay. We didn't try the restaraunt and we left very early to get to the airport.

Stayed for one night. Happened to coincide with the Queen hosting a Garden party a few hundred yards down the street, so the traffic was a nightmare.
The hotel is right behind the Royal Mile and a short walk from the rest of Edinburgh's attractions.
The rooms are clean and bright. Lots of space and you're given everything you need to have a basic breakfast.
Not much of a view from out 1st floor (2nd floor in North America) room.
From the outside it doesn't look like much, but don't be fooled.
Parking costs 7.50 pounds/day.
I was very happy with the choice and will stay there again.

I won't repeat the previous reviewers remarks, which are right on target.
We also had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, but on the 5th floor. It was spacious and a wonderful change from hotel living. We were there for 3 nights.
The plumbing really didn't bother us, I think it's the water pump working. The floors do squeak as reported by others but we were only concerned that it might effect others and since we never heard anything from any other apartment...we assume the noise doesn't travel.
The kitchenette has a combination washer dryer. It takes forever for things to dry, so be patient. It will eventually get dry...Detergent is provided in the apartment.
As noted before the location is great. When we arrived at Waverley Railway Station we walked to the hotel (it's downhill from the railway station), following the hotel's directions...piece of cake to find...Upon leaving we took a cab, to Waverley, it was about 7 pounds (with tip), I'm not sure why the previous authors cost so much more.
You can get deep fried Mars bars just to the left (as you leave the Bakehouse Close entrance to the hotel's location) on the Royal Mile. Try it, it sounds weird but it's great!
We ate in a lot to save money but did try the Pizza Express, behind the hotel, on Holyrood street. It was ok.
While in Edinburgh, we took the train up to St Andrews for the day. I think it cost about 13 pounds a piece for a round trip. You take the train to Leuchars and take a bus (4 pounds for 2) or a cab (9 pounds) to the town of St Andrews. A must for golfers!
I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to others.

As everyone says, the place is excellent and like living at home. Of course that won't be cheap, but I still felt it was worth it for the convenience. Its a small place and tucked out of the way, so no views or anything, and a long walk to the new town and mcdonalds and whatnot. Location is along the royal mile though and very historic, so it depends what you are interested in. We will definitely stay there again if we go back. The breakfast basket was value for money, but they eat healthy there (wheat bread, healthy biscuts...).
