The 4-Star conference-business Hotel Ambassador Spa is located in a quiet green area between the river Aare and the Gurten mountain. Nevertheless it is close to the city center with our own tram stop- Schonegg Line 9- just 7 minutes from the main railway station. We also provide free underground parking. In 2005 the hotel was renovated. The 97 rooms all have AC- bath or shower- satellite and cable-TV more than 250 channels- radio- Wireless LAN- telephone- coffeemaker- safe- minibar and hairdryer. You can choose the view from either Berne famous mountain park- the Gurten and the green countryside view or the UNESCO World Heritage old town with the Houses of Parliament and the Cathedral Munster. There are two restaurants- the Japanese Teppan-Yaki Restaurant Taishi and the International Restaurant Pavillon looking out over a wonderful panoramic view of Bernes old town. Hotel and conference guests can relax in the indoor swimming pool-sauna-steam bath-solarium and the fitness centre for free.

We had a good stay in this hotel. Of course there are always some points that can be better but overall we were satisfied. The positive points are: We had a good view. The room was clean and comfortabel. The staff is friendly. Good parking and close to the city center even for a walk. Negative or less positive points are: The breakfast is good but plain, not very special. The sauna is very small. With three people in there it is crowded. The same goes for the swimming pool.

i had read terrible articles on the ambassador. however the hotel has been renovated and pretty comfortable inside. the breakfast is also decent and even vegetarians can manage with the food. they make hash brown potatoes on request. the rooms are nice, clean and compact and even if u r on holiday, you can manage. overall the hotel is very good value for money and has some great views of the city. its only a 6-7min tram/bus ride from the city centre/station and the stop is jsut outside the hotel.

I just returned from a weekend in Bern+Fribourg. The intention was to have a pampering relaxing weekend in a hotel with fitness, spa and swimming pool. I chose Ambassador because it promised all the above with the guarantee of a 4 stars hotel. I have no idea how they got the ratings! The room was tiny, the bathroom was a miniscule glass cabin carved out of the room. The elevators were old and ridiculously slow. The information in the room was only in German. The website gave instructions on how to reach the hotel, but forgot to mention that the tram stop next to the station does not function for extensive road/tram works, oh and the tram does not exist either. And regarding the "spa", you can find it in the garage, a tiny room with a tiny changing space, right next to the tiny fitness room. I would rate the overall stay a 2-star hotel at most, but without the friendliness of a 2-star hotel. My suggestion would be to stay in Fribourg instead! It's much lovelier, and you can do a day trip to Bern.

Ho avuto terribili notizie dall'ambasciatore. Tuttavia, l'hotel è stato rinnovato e dentro è molto comodo. La colazione era nella media ed anche i vegetariani possono mangiare tranquillamente. Fanno un tortino di patate su richiesta. Le camere sono belle, pulite e compatte, anche se si è in vacanza è possibile arrangiarsi. Nel complesso l'hotel è molto bello ed ha un buon prezzo, ha degli ottimi panorami della città. Si trova a soli 6-7min dal centrocittà raggiungibile con il tram/bus.
