Stayed at the Lodge Park this March, and was very dissapointed at the lack of a few basic facilities and at the cost of drinks in the bar. The room was a decent size, but the decor was an acquired taste, with lots of plaid padded wallpaper and it tended to be a bit dark. Not exactly a colour scheme you want to wake up to with a hangover. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and the mini bar was incredibly expensive. Visit the local Spar shop just up the hill past the ice rink and stock up on basics. Don`t expect an iron or ironing board to be avaliable, as the hotel charges £5 per item to be ironed and need an hours notice...what a rip off! For english viewers, there is only 1 tv channel, CNN, and its very repeitive after a while. In fairness there are spa facilities on offer and the jacuzzi is a good size. A final point is that the breakfast is a serve yourself affair with mostly cheeses and cold meats, no good old-fashioned fry ups. The hotel is positioned fairly centrally but I foud the town overly quiet, generally expensive and sedate. PS..if you fancy a trip into Chamonix, there is only 1 bus a day whch leaves the bus centre at 10.10am with a return at 2.50pm.

we loved this hotel! beautiful and the staff were friendly. the decor was fantastic (if you like antlers and scottish hunting style- and I do!).
Room with a fireplace is essential. And hire your skis from the lovely man in the ski atelier in the basement next to the spa - he will make sure they fit. cannot recommend highly enough - came home yesterday and am going to go back in three weeks. but please don't all book a room as I want to go there once a month - three hours from my house in London.
