Perfect Place to Stay

My best friend and I stayed at the hotel Caravel and can't say enough good things about it. The location is great because you have to walk about 15 minutes to get to Sorrento. Along the way there are fantastic views and many things to observe. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful and the Barmen and wait staff were great and so professional. The pool was refreshing and our room was nice and clean with a nice bathroom and had a great view. The hotel is located 1 block from the most beautiful beach which you look out to from the cliff. Walking through the mountain to get to the beach is amazing! We would definitely stay there again.
Great staff, great hotel!

We stayed for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Although the hotel is 20 minutes from the centre of Sorrento, we knew that in advance and the walk was not a problem.
The rooms were spotless as was the the entire property. the attention to detail was excellent.
Te staff cannot do enough to help. They are really friendly and nothing is too much of a problem for them. They genuinly want to know if there is something you are not happy with and put it right very quickly.
Great pool and sun terraces on the roof, no problem getting sunbeds!
Good local restaurants without getting ripped off in Sorrento! Try the Terazzo for the best sunsets and good value food.
This hotel is great value for money compared to other Hotels nearby!

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel from end of June to 8 July 2008. It was an excellent 4*. Always clean, the staff were friendly, breakfast good, pool good. I had absolutely no complaints over our 9 night stay. The reception was very helpful with information about day trips and transport. The hotel was in a nice quiet location away from the busy Corso Italia, but close enough to walk to Sorrento, Sant Agnello train station and the beach.
If you have children, I would say that there were not many children at the hotel, so there may not be many children for your kids to play with, but this depends on who is in the hotel at the time. There were a few more when we left. More of an adult hotel - no children's activities or anything like that.
However, as someone without children, it was nice that the pool itself was quite quiet.

One of the best rooms we have ever stayed in whilst in Italy (superior double). Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and spacious......a most positive experience!
Location in Sorrento was also great about a 20 minute walk to the city centre or 10 minutes if you took the hotel shuttle (only takes you half way into town).
Breakfast was unfortunately miserable with very little selection and very poor quality produce especially the fruit which was often rotten and diseased. (We got the impression that they bought it cheap from the local farmers)
We tried the hotel dinner only once (and boy I mean ONLY once!) It was the worst rubbish we had ever eaten. The serves were so small that after we finished we had to go to the pizza place next door to have pizza. Food quality was poor and we have eaten better at MacDonalds!
The waiters looked funny trying to be serious in their "penguin" suits. It seems that they were trying so hard to pretend that they were serving in some 4 Michelin Star restaurant when in reality it was more like a $1 diner.
Too bad they didnt charge a dollar...it was really expensive!
The pool was nice except thart it was not heated at all so the water was absolutely freezing even on days where the air temp was 34 degrees.
Other than that....its worth staying there as long as you dont eat there

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in May. I had hoped to get a balcony room, but none was available when I checked in. Not a big deal anyway, since you don't spend that much time in your room. I used this hotel as a "hub" for touring around during the day. Pompeii, Vesuvio, Capri, Sorrento, Positano....etc.... are all easily accessible from this location via train. The train station is a short walk from the hotel. I even walked to Sorrento a few times. It took my about 20 minutes, but I'm a very fast walker. Next time I would prefer a hotel right in Sorrento because I found myself going there everyday, to walk around and to shop! Yes, shopping.....ladies beware.....Italian leather.....haha!
The hotel's breakfast was very good, service excellent! Front desk was very helpful is answering questions. The pool was very nice and refreshing. The room itself was a good size considering it was Europe - very clean! The fridge in the room was great bonus!
