The Jason Inn is not the prettiest hotel in Athens. If I were furnishing a room I would not choose the same colours or styles... However its rooms are comfortable and well-sized, blissfully featuring hardcore airconditioning and the most reasonably priced mini-bar I have ever encountered. [note that many Greek hotels use single beds next to each other in double rooms - Jason Inn is one of these, perhaps not great for honeymooners.]
I know Athens quite well and picked the hotel for its location, just outside the Plaka (the main tourist area around the Ancient sites). It is an 800 metre walk from pretty much everything you'd need to see in Athens (600m to acropolis) in a two day break and about 70 metres from the nearest metro which is on the direct line to Piraeus (about 15 minutes, if you care to go island hopping). It's in a quieter, not so pretty neighbourhood, but in the Plaka itself you'll be overcrowded and overpriced - the few steps walk is worth it. The hotel overlooks the Keramikos and some rooms have an acropolis view [note, from the plan of the entire hotel on the door, I note that rooms at the back will not have a good view and one rooms seems to be windowless - obviously try and avoid these, and ask - as I did - for a third floor room with a parthenon view].
Jason Inn has an unparalleled view of the Acropolis from its rooftop restaurant. The very good breakfast included in the room rate is served here. It is slightly annoying that breakfast finishes at 9.30am, although in a city with so much to do the early finish is a blessing in disguise.
The hotel is clean and well-managed, even if the front desk staff don't seem to smile much. They are at least helpful and efficient.
This is a top hotel for value, cleanliness and location. Highly reccommended

Very central. The floodlit Acropolis view on a night from the rooftop restaurant is excellent. The food is OK. Hotel clean, poor views from some rooms but generally satisfactory.
What made it really good for us, as we were passing through on our way to the islands, is that it is so close to the Thissio metro station with direct links to the airport and the port.
