A great hotel in the center of the Plaka, around the corner from the Roman agora and the Tower of the Winds. Close to Monastiraki metro station. Comfortable rooms. Fabulous view of the Acropolis from rooftop terrace.

My wife and I stayed here in the middle of Sept. 06. Located within short walking distance of everything in the city made this the perfect starting point for our 2 week greek adventure. We took the subway from the airport to Monastiraki Station and walked our bags the 2 blocks to the hotel, very easy to do. It is situated almost directly next to the Roman Agora and short (10 min.) walk to the Acropolis entrance which is on the south side. We also chose to walk from the hotel to the National Archealogical Museum and Lycabettus Hill which is a little more strenuous though far from difficult. There are a number of touristy (and upscale) shops on Adrianou which is a walk only (mostly) road and plenty of restaurants of all types located nearby.
The outstanding breakfast on the terrace with a stunning view of the Acropolis in the rising sun made our stay memorable.

We spent 8 nights at the Adrian in October of 2007 and found it to be a very nice place to stay. The rooms are spartan but very clean. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The guys at the reception desk were more than willing to help you with directions and advice. We had a room with a balcony overlooking Adrianou street, we could sit and watch the busy street scene. When we closed our balcony door we were able to avoid the noise from the street. As others have noted, the location is excellent. We were able to get everywhere on foot. If speed was needed, we used the metro which was close by.Remember that this area of Athens is ancient and the "streets" surrounding the hotel and metro are often merely alleys by modern standards. Teeming with people, these streets can initially be very confusing and frustrating. The streets and sidewalks are very hilly . The walking surfaces are rough and uneven, care is needed. As noted by others, not all rooms have an excellent view however - some face blank walls etc..The rooftop patio is great , offering a good view of the Acropolis. The breakfast was fine, but not remarkable. The view and the fresh orange juice made up for any breakfast shortcomings. The only problem we had was that the double bed was actually 2 twins pushed together leaving a gap of 6 inches between them due to the wood frames. Our bath was good sized with a full tub and shower. This is a very good place to stay!

This hotel is all about location and the view at breakfast. The rooms are clean and almost shockinly basic. The location in the Plaka is great for access to anything you want to do. The staff speaks English well. Paying attention to which 'view' your room has would be a good idea up front... ours had a balcony... that looked into an interior work area. Breakfast is served on a lovely terrace overlooking the back of the Acropolis.... very nice. Internet is available for a fee. The metro is within walking distance.

Excellent location right at the footstep of the Acropolis. The breakfast was good, and the views from the roof terrace was fantastic. Helpful and friendly staff
There is a busy little plaza at the front of hotel with lots of cafes and restaurants. We were not disturbed by noise from the plaza.
Short walking distance to Acropolis, the ancient agora, Syntagma etc.
Rather small, but ok rooms.
We will most likely stay at Hotel Adrian next time we visit Athens too.
