This hotel certainly lived up to expectations. The location is very central, within easy walking distance of shops, railway, bus and ferry stations, the public areas are nicely decorated with a welcoming bar and restaurant. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of cold food, the hot food ran out quickly and was not replaced. The bedroom was reasonably spacious and very clean withcomfortable beds.
Be aware that the chambermaid has a habit of entering the room at 0830 in the morning without knocking and can enter even if the room is locked with the key on the inside of the door. There is no security chain.

Had a pleasant stay at the hotel. It doesn't look much from the main road, but the front of the hotel and entrance is actually around the corner on a side street.
Reception staff helpful. Room very big for a double - as well as the usual furniture there was a sofa and plenty of room for it. The room was comfortable with a/c and comfy beds, but overall it was a bit bland. Our room had no view at all: we were on the first floor over looking a flat roof and the wall of another building.
Had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent - we were on a set menu. I'm vegetarian, no option on the set menu, but the chef came up with one of the best veggie meals I've ever had! In addition, the service in the restaurant was first class.
Breakfast selection good, but we stayed during the town festival and it was a bit like a free for all in the breakfast room - we felt like putting our towels on our seats to make sure no one else sat on them:-).
Bar nice for an evening drink, but grumpy barman which put us off.
All in all a good stay, and would stay again, but would try and get a room with a least a bit of a view.

We stayed for one night at the hotel in August and it was great. The room we had was huge, it was more like an apartment and my adult daughter who was with us had a separate room in an upstairs loft. The room we booked was a triple but it had everything including a lounge, a/c and good views of the lake. We even had a fax machine on the desk!
The staff at reception were friendly and spoke good English but the best of all was the restaurant, not only was the food great but the service was exceptional. We each received a complimentary aperterif and it went down well defore dinner.
The breakfast the next morning was also good. Overall we thought the hotel was a great deal and a good location near the station and only a short walk to the town where you can vist the Zepplin museum or catch the ferry.

Just back from a four night stay in this hotel. The location of this hotel is excellent, just beside the railway station. A train from the local airport takes 5 minutes and costs €1.65. We arrived early at the hotel to be greeted by a frosty female receptionist who didn't smile once and told us to leave our suitcases in the public area of the reception while our rooms were made up. We would have felt better if she had taken them to a more secure area.
After this initial setback we were delighted with the very large and spacious bedroom with excellent bathroom that we were given. The room had air conditioning that was badly needed even in late April. The toiletries were on the poor side with one squeezy bottle of soap to cover everything. Unfortunately the pillows used are of the very light fluffy variety, we would have preferred a firmer pillow. The breakfasts were very good with both cold and hot buffet available, fresh fruit and yoghurts. There was a barrel of complimentary apples for guests at reception. Overall a nice hotel.

I spend a weekend with my husband in the Buchhorner Hof and we were delighted about the great location, the service and especially the dinner in the very cosy restaurant.
We had a very comfortable and spacious room in the hotel, which was very clean and well designed.
The hotel is located close to the city center and has a very nice bar for the good night drink ;o)
The stuff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend the place for everybody, business or holiday!
