Love this place, one of the best in Bath...but keep it a secret!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel after I saw it featured in a coffee table book called The Guest List. I am so pleased that I went with instinct and booked this hotel as we really enjoyed our flying visit. We got an amazing deal of Bed, Breakfast and Dinner for ?235...if you know Bath you know that that is incredibly good value.
I loved the relaxed feel of the hotel, it was rather like staying as house guests in a big house but better! The deco is a nice combination of classic colours coupled with modern clean lines. The morning room has tea and coffee laid out and you can help yourself or they will bring a tea tray (and homemade cookies) to your room. They are drinks available in another lounge and piles of glossy mags and arty books. The valet parking is a wonderful idea and we really appreciated it. Our car was whisked off and we didn't have to worry about finding a place which is near impossible in Bath especially in high summer.
In the evening we dined in the restaurant which is in the basement, but feels surprsingly airy but cosy at the same time. The food was very good. A short brasserie menu that concentrates mainly on modern classics. My smoked salmon and cucumber was lovely and my main of venison was butter soft and delicious. The waitresses were very polite and discreet allowing just the right time between courses, I cannot abide intrusive waiting staff and the staff here struck just the right balance. They also have an amazing wine list and something for every palate.
Our room was huge with a flat screen TV, stereo system and squashy sofa. The King size bed was so comfortable and adorned with Frette bedlinen...a big tick in my world! The generous bathroom was pleasing in white marble with White Company goodies and robes. Our only niggle would be that there isn't any air con or even a fan and it can get a little airless in the city centre in the summer. We had our windows open wide but still woke up very hot.
Breakfast was another triumph with a delicious selection of fruit, home made muesli, fresh squeezed juice, moreish croissants and the full english.
I am very difficult to please when it comes to hotels but I loved it here and I cannot wait for another excuse to visit wonderful Bath.

We stayed here over a bank holiday weekend and were very disappointed. To start with we never received a confirmation e-mail from the hotel which is just a sign of bad management. When we arrived we got the room behind reception that is above the kitchen and it had no air con. We were kept up at night by people slamming the door on the way into the hotel and woken in the morning from noises coming from kitchen. Yes the room was big but for this price you want more then just a big room. We stayed in a standard room and got nothing extra. We had to pay for the paper that was offered to us on check in which we thought was complementary. We had to pay for breakfast which again for the price was not that great. All up our two nights accommodation cost ?445. I agree with other reviewers that it's the little things that make boutique hotels special this place falls well short of special. We have stayed at other boutiques hotels in UK and around the world and this place is a dive compared to the rest.

We had a child-free night here recently and it was just lovely.
It was only a short stroll to the centre of Bath and with complimentary valet parking this made it ideal for a short break.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and all correspondence we had with them was very straight forward.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bath and wanting something more personal than the big traditional hotels around.

Second time we have stayed at The Queensbury, nice, relaxed hotel in great location. Staff friendly and attentive, car whisked away on arrival.
Restaurant and breakfast very good - restaurant much better than the last time we stayed - even though they forgot our reservation a table was founf quickly enough.
Hotel served by a couple of lounges - no main bar which could be a drawback and but seems to work well with 1 attendent.
Slight criticism is that the renovated rooms have perhaps been over modernised its a great old building and maybe could have been more sympathitic to the era whilst maintaining a moderm twist. The pine toilet seat that fell down ever time you flushed the toilet was odd at this level of hotel!
Still great place and would recommend.

we stayed at the hotel for a weekend in may for our anniversary, we found the room immaculate, the bathroom spacious and the staff incredibly helpful and friendly.
We ate at the olive branch resturant which also exceeded our expectations.
Both the hotel and the resturant are expensive but they are worth the expense - it made for a fantastic anniversary
