Watch out for Cockroaches!

The resort is absolutely gorgeous. However, much to my dismay, we found several extremely large cockroaches in our room. Upon bringing this to the front desk manager, he smirked and said "well they are smaller cockroaches than what I have seen in Chicago." I was very disappointed in the way the staff handled this situation and will never stay there again.

Outstanding hotel and staff. Room beautifully furnished and very clean.

We stayed at this hotel on July 14-15, 2007. Everything about the hotel was perfect and really made our visit to Phoenix-Scottsdale a wonderful weekend. We were really impressed with the decoration and furnishing of the rooms. Large flat screen LG TV and wonderful beds. The staff got our boarding passes for SWA while we visited Canyon Lake (another great place to visit). The staff was outstanding at all levels. We highly recommend this hotel as a must for those visiting this area of Arizona.

Good location, close to everything. Clean, good daily service. Friendly. Mostly oriented for elderly people. Adequate breakfast and 'happy hour' menu. Travelocity description was not correct - no tennis courts, very small fitness room. Don't like the beds - too soft, looks very nice but you sleep like in hammock.

We stayed at the Gainey Suites Hotel for three days in April 2007. We had 6 people (4 adults and 2 children) and stayed in a two bedroom suite. The rooms were clean and well appointed. One of the bedrooms had a nice little balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The pool area was very nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The cookies each afternoon were a definite plus too. There were many nice shops and restaurants just a short walk away. We were very pleased with our stay.

This hotel was OK, that is the best way to describe it. There was nothing special. If you are looking for a nice spa getaway in Arizona...this is not the place to be. The beds were comfortable but otherwise it was just a place to stay.
