me and my partner who are both 19 stayed at the belvedere hotel and a were a bit unsure what to expect after these reviews and you know what, it isnt terrible like evryone makes out. the best was i can describe this hotel is a a simple beach hotel, its not a glamourous luxury resort but to be honest it isnt 5 star prices you pay! there are two pools both very nice and clean and the small ones in the back garden is sheltered from the wind and the garden it is set in is pretty. yes the west coast is generally breezy and sometimes it is quite blustery sometimes but it makes the heat very bearable in the summer which is great for walking into town. The whole hotel inside and out is all immaculately clean, the decor is not horrific ,it just isnt amasingly modern but itsjust fine for a beach hotel! we had a noisy room which wsnt the best the first nightwe got to the belvedere but the staff couldnt of been more helpful and moved us first thing in the mornin letting us choose a new room. we wnt half board and breakfast was great a big selectiona of hot and cold food we didnt eat dinner many times at the hotel only beacause there are soo many other returants in town and around the hotel, the the buffet style food was pretty standard and quite tasty not too bad at all! this hotel is great for location as just round the corner are tons of bars and resturants (bar street) and rhodes old town is only 10min walk away with lots more and is soo beautiful and old. also go on the little red land train which there are details of in the hotel its a cute little trip! lindos by boat is pretty but be warned the boat journey is over 2 hours. you will ave a lovely holiday is rhodes its beautiful and i really dont think this hotel is a bad hotel for the money.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in June on full board. Regretted the full board and would have converted to 1/2 board if I hadn't paid via my travel agent a couple months in advance. The Breakfasts were ok, and the wait staff were excellent. The supper was usually well below sub-par (although the wait staff were again excellent), with the only saving grace being the salads offered.
The Hotel does feature a majority of rooms that look towards the beach and relative privacy on the balcony, but otherwise one of the more disappointing hotel rooms in my 3 weeks in Greece. Small, noisy A/C, cramped bathrooms, and uncomfy beds.

Rated as a 4* on their own website and brochure but unfortunately only 3* at best. Our pool / seaview room got the early morning sun and again late afternoon with a wonderful sunset every evening. The balcony was quite spacious, however if you are on the top floor ( 5th ) they are half the size and very narrow. The room was very clean, nice crisp white sheets and thick towels. Our bathroom was tiny and very dated. The tiles were very dark and many were broken. The shower was very powerful but a strange set up, it was like half a bath with a seat, not very much room. The whole thing needs ripping out and updating, however the maids did a good job of keeping it clean. The rooms at the front of the hotel have full size baths with a shower over. These rooms are next to the main road and also can be quite windy. The food was pretty much the same everyday so we ate out most evenings. The location was excellent, on the windy side of the island so didn't get too hot. The beach was a bit stoney but lots of sun beds.Bars and restaurants only 10 minute walk away. Lots to see and do in Rhodes town.Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. All in all not bad value for money.

Just returned from Rhodes after 10 days at the Belvedere Beach Hotel in October 2007.
Having read all the reviews before we travelled, I must say we were somewhat doubtful, but we found the hotel to be "acceptable". The true asset is their staff, very friendly and most helpful. The food is so-so, but hey, we were on holiday and there is no point in travelling abroad to eat fish & chips. However, they could certainly do with a bit of labelling on the food trays in the buffet. What is Beef Rind ??
The room we had was on ground level with access to a small garden at the rear of the hotel - what a superb sun trap. No problem with "towels on sunbeds" brigade, and what is more - no wind from the sea. The room was somewhat old fashioned, but perfectly adequate, and the maid was exceptional - a true credit to the Belvedere.
On the down side (and there always are some), the Bin Men emptied the dustbins each day at around 2.00am, and they seemed to make as much noise as possible, perhaps it is in their contract. There is a "Rat Run" into the old town at the rear of the Hotel - very, very, very noisy, especially during the night.
We could'nt make the air conditioning work, and I was told by reception it would cost another 6 euros per day to switch it on. Apparently during the high season it is included in the price, but at the begining and end of the season they charge it as an extra.
We were initially informed that we could use the room until our flight out at midnight, but the hotel then charged us an extra 43 euros for an extended 1/2 day stay beyond 12 noon and extra for the evening meal. There was very little entertainment in the Hotel, just 3 local acts a week, but if you want some real entertainment, just watch the tourists on the pedestrian crossings. The crossings are just for show...no one takes any notice of them.
Anyway - would we go back to Rhodes and the Belvedere Hotel ??.....Yes we would.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here last year and although we had an amazing stay in rhodes the hotel didnt quite meet the standard we were expecting from a 4star. We stayed half board and wished that we hadnt as we eat out almost every night. The food wasnt labelled so you didnt have a clue what you were eating. it mostly tasted horrible apart from the breakfasts which were nice. The pool area was good and it was always easy to get a sun lounger which was a bonus. The rooms were fine although possibly a little small however the TV was massive and played english movie channels till late at nite which was good after a night out. Most of the other guests were foreign and nobody ever seemed to drink in the hotel bar. it was always empty with no entertainment and seemed to close at about midnight every night so this is not the place to stay if you like getting friendly with other guests and like having a wee drink after a night out in the hotel. This year we went back to rhodes but stayed in the olympic palace hotel in ixia which was amazing. was still close to rhodes town yet the food, atmosphere and entertainment in this hotel was amazing. If your thinking of going to rhodes i would pick the Olympic palace and give the belvedere beach a miss.
